District 6
“Kagome! Wait up!” called Inuyasha. His silver hair glinted in the sunlight, and so did his fangs and sword. He wore a red outfit made out of the fur of the Fire Rat, a rare beast from the forests, protecting him from a lot of harm. It was a gift from his deceased mother—a shield protecting him from physical harm. A girl with raven black hair in the distance saw him run over and she waved to him happily. She wore a denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up and pants made of the same faded blue material. They both had signature white bandannas tying back their hair, a sign they were from Company A: assigned to make the hovercrafts that circle around the Hunger Games. Those hovercrafts were only created specifically for cargo, people, and lookout stations to watch over the progress of the Games. Of course, because they always held such ingenious technology to help monitor the Games, they were later sent to District 3 to be filled up with monitors and such. But the technology used to keep the crafts flying was a District 6 job. Inuyasha rushed over to her side immediately, almost as if he were a trained puppy—which was funny considering he was a dog demon.
“How are you doing?” she asked him. He reached for her hand and he kissed her cheek affectionately. He looked down at her work bench and wrinkled his nose up at the smell.
“What smells?” he asked her. She looked at him curiously. “I don't smell anything,” she told him. He pointed at his nose for her to see. “Dog have super senses. I guess only I smell it—but it smells like rotting fish,” he told her in disgust. Kagome looked down at her work as Inuyasha investigated the metal.
“If you must know, I've added copper into the mix so that the machine will be sturdier. Maybe that's what you're smelling?” she said to him. “No, that's not it,” he told her. She narrowed her eyes at him. “I hope you're not saying that my work stinks,” she said to him. He paled and gave her a sheepish grin.
“No, don't worry, babe! That's not what I'm implying at all!” he said defensively. She smiled at him.
                              “Good.”
Inuyasha turned around and saw a nearly completed hovercraft.
“Well, well, it looks like District 6 will get their pay roll after all. That craft is almost done,” he said in surprise. She grinned.
“I know. It's all thanks to the diligent work of all of the girls,” said Kagome proudly. She spoted her crew on the top level of the machine, making the final adjustments on the outer shields.
“Hey, girls! I'm clocking out for today! Come on down if you want dinner!” called Kagome. San and Miaka's footsteps could be heard as they rushed down the hovercraft as fast as they could. Nina, however, took the magician's road and jumped off of the hovercraft itself, which was usually suicide for a normal person. Yet, Nina floated down the last five feet of the five hundred meter length of the ship. Kimiko took the more sensible, but still crazy exit, jumping down footholds from the top of the ship, down to where Inuyasha and and Kagome waited for them. Landing in front of them, Nina had orange red hair that was long and thick behind her. Kimiko jumped down next to her, her long, black hair pulled up into curly pigtails. As soon as she exited the vertically positioned hovercraft, Miaka had short black hair that she liked to tie up in twin buns at the top of her head, and San had violently cut brown hair, short and pulled back with a black hair band. She also had twin red triangles on her cheeks, symbolizing her unique ability to converse with animals. Her wolf bone earrings flashed in the fading sunlight as she shook back the hair in her face. They all wore identical outfits to Kagome's, and they grinned at Kagome in unison happily. She beamed back at them.
“Ready to go home?” she asked them. Nina smiled at her and Miaka started cheering.
“Yeah! Kagome's cooking is the best!” she said happily. San smiled at all of them, but as she looked over at Inuyasha coldly.
