Ally's POV

I shut my locker and began making my way to first period. I passed by "the three" (Lauren, Ariana, and Normani), and they were all cackling about something. Except Normani. She seemed off, smiling weakly.

Hm.

I kept walking, and came across a girl struggling to gather her stuff that had been strewn across the floor. I bent down to start helping her.

After we had collected everything, she looked at me. It seemed she was biting back tears, and I was almost positive the "the three" had done this to her.

"Um... Thanks."

I smiled. "No problem."

She got up and started walking away, although it didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing.

I followed her. "Hey, do you need some hel-"

"I'm fine!" She spat, whipping around to face me.

"Oh, ok... Sorry..." I started walking to class.

"Wait no, please-" she grabbed my arm. I turned around, and faced her pleading brown eyes.

"Look, I'm sorry. It's just..." She ran a hand through her hair, sighing. "These three girls were talking to me and I thought- I thought they were nice but then they tripped me..."

"Lauren, Ariana, and Normani?" I asked.

"Yeah." She bit her lip.

I rolled my eyes. "They're always doing stuff like that. But you can trust me," I assured her, smiling.

She smiled. "Ok. Can you help me find my locker? 441? "

"Of course." I linked my arm with hers. "So what's your name? I'm Ally."

"I'm Camila," she replied. "I just moved here from Cuba."

"Wow! What's Cuba like?!"

"Well... Not the best. We moved here to have a chance at a better life."

I nodded. "That's so cool. I'm sure you'll love it here."

"I hope so."

"Well here's your locker!" I said, coming to a stop.

After Camila was done unloading her stuff, I asked what her 1st period class was.

"Ummm..." She examined her schedule. "English with Mr. Cowell."

"Hey! That's my class!"

"Really?!" Her smile brightened.

"Yeah! Come on, let's go."

Just then, the bell rang. She gave me a worried look.

"Don't worry. You're new, and they'll understand that I was helping you."

"Ok." She relaxed.

And I headed off to English with my new friend. The first one I had made in a while.
