Description:
In the year 1921, a family was brutally murdered in a small little cottage. The place could fit a small family and had a large garden, it was isolated and quiet, a perfect place to get away with murder and that's actually what happened.
The Avery family was killed. A mother and her son. They were both too young to die, the mother only being 34 and the son only being 16. No one understood why anyone would want to kill the little family, who's been through hell and back after the father walked out on them. He took all the money forcing them to move into the tiny home. Even then, they were still positive until... The terrifying day took place.
No one has ever moved into the house since then, considering all the rumors going around about the son haunting the cottage. His first sighting being a few months after the murder and since then there's been many reports of his shadowy figure in the windows. Teenagers often explored the place but as soon as they were out of the house, they never went back inside.

Zach Herron, aged 17, now ready to move into a house of his own. After being under parents watchful eye for years, he's ready to finally walk on his own two feet. He could've moved out at 16, legal age in England, but decided against it but now he was prepared. The cottage seemed like fitting place for him to stay, he's seen the reviews about it being 'haunted' but paid no mind to it. Ghosts aren't real. Plus the murder happened nearly 100 years ago, surely everyone would be over it by now. Is his thoughts on whole scenario.
I think we can all - not so safely - say that after his experience with the home that ghosts are indeed real.

Prologue:
Zach's POV
Today is the day. I think to myself, finally I can live a little without having my parents freak out when I wasn't back by curfew or just happened to forget to wear sun cream on a mildly hot day.
No matter how much I'll miss them, it's time I spend some time on my own. It's not like I'm going far or anything, I'm just leaving a few towns away. The place I'm staying isn't quite in a town or city, it's more on it's own in the middle of a forest. The forest didn't seem scary at all, in fact it seemed like a calming place where I can admire the nature. Take pictures, draw (terribly might I add) and just chill out.
"Zach! Hurry you. You'll miss the taxi!" My mother's soothing voice bounces off the walls from downstairs, I glance towards the door and shout back,"Yeah, yeah."
Whenever my mother says I'm going to be late, she really means that I still have about 45 minutes but she doesn't want me to miss anything and thinks it takes that long to get ready when things are practically already done. I'm just saying goodbye to the place I've called my room for about 10 years. Moving house wasn't a thing my family did much and they've seemed to of settled in the current house I'm stood in.
Zipping up my personal backpack, that kept important stuff in such as my phone, toothbrush, toothpaste, laptop, drawing essentials, a camera and charges for my phone, laptop and camera.
Looping my arms though the parts that they needed to be, I gripped the straps and started heading downstairs after checking myself over on the mirror, I unfortunately can not bring since it's nailed to the wall.
"Baby, I can't believe you're leaving us. It feels like just yesterday that you in my arms in the hospital after being born." My mother says, pulling me into her arms. I just groan and roll my eyes at the thought of being bloody and newborn. "I'll miss you too, mum." I mumble with tinted pink cheeks when she kisses it but it's sloppy and gets drool there.
Using the bottom of my shirt to clean it away, I give my dad a hug and say bye before walking into the kitchen. I scan over the food items and decide on toasting a chocolate pop tart.
Eventually, it pops up and I grab them for the car ride a head.
A loud beep and my mum's sudden scream of 'Zach! Zach! I told you, you was going to be late!' And my dad muttering for her to quiet down.
The area my stuff is usually laying around, looks empty and leaves a sickly homesick feeling in my belly. Well this is it. I think while exiting the door with a final 'bye' and getting in the taxi.

A/n: A new Jachary story! I hope you enjoyed! This is only 800+ words but it's fine since it's only the start. Normal chapters are around 1,200 to 2,500 when I get lost in writing!
Warning: This isn't edited and there will be the occasional error. I'm sorry.
[I literally wrote this story when I was like 11, please save me the embarrassment and don't bother reading].
