Earth. The planet of freedom and hope. Hope for a better life as they would say. At first, I would have never thought of betraying my own kind, but now that I look back on my past, I realized I made the right decisions.
Being in that court was unhealthy. I was constantly taken advantage of by others higher in our society, Because of my loyalty and silence. The moment I rebelled made everyone question anything they knew about anyone.
They would call me a defect because of how much weaker I was compared to other soldiers. It made me feel worthless when I couldn't be more than just a 'disappointment' to my court. Especially my diamond.
The moment I met Rose quartz, Everything changed. She taught me that who I was wasn't where I came from, but who I was inside. She must've knew of me already, Because she knew I was defective. But what I like about her best is that, she never cared about that. She treated me just like any other gem in her army. An individual.
Rose also had a great fascination with earth and its specimens. She loved humans, they're creations and behavior. So she wanted to protect it. She was determined to. And it lead to a Great War known as the gem war. I was only a few thousand years when this happened. Currently I am 7,400 years old.
She had many other memorable soldiers in her army, a pearl, Who belonged to nobody as she would tell us, And a fusion of two different gems. She was actually one of my best friends in that rebellion at the time. She understood how hard it was to be someone different on homeworld.
But the war wasn't just about hope. Countless gems were destroyed. In the end, Rose could only save some of her closest friends. Sadly, I wasn't one of them, neither was my pearl. She was destroyed by a diamonds soldier. But I did find safety beside a gem I didn't get to even know the name of yet. she saved my life. I still wish I could thank her for it.
"Great story." Steven remarked. "But you don't seem defective."
  I smiled.
"That's because your just like your mother. You have her mindset when it comes to her perception of others."
steven looked into my eyes as he sat up from the long grass patch on top of the temples mountain. He hugged me tight.
"I'm so excited to introduce you to the others tomorrow." He said as his hug became an attempt to lay on me like a the small child he was.
  "Me too Steven...
