All Melody could hear was the sound of raindrops hitting her guitar case as she walked the streets of Paris. Nearby cars could be heard as water soaked her shoes and socks, only able to carry a bag before her parents dragged her out of the house in utter disappointment.
She finally came upon a bench where she took out her guitar and began singing.
Do you remember me?
Do you recognize me?
We've met again
My shaking eyes
My trembling lips
Are looking for you again
One step behind
From Behind
Hug me like before
My heart tells me, it remembers you
The only person who makes my heart race
A painful love that makes my heart ache
My tears tell me, I love you
I call and call out for you
But I still long for you, my love
The wind is cold
But it's alright
If only you're by my side
Even if it's a foolish love
It's alright
If only I could see you
Even now, just like always
From behind
I cry because I can't forget
My heart tells me, it remembers you
The only person who makes my heart race
A painful love that makes my heart ache
My tears tell me, I love you
Calling and calling
But I still long for you, my love
I can still only see you
Like this, it's you
Forever, it's you
Hug me like before
My heart tells me, it remembers you
If only I was you
I'd take away all that pain
my tears tell me, I love you
Calling and calling
But I still long for you, my love
After she finished, there was applause coming from the crowd that had gathered. She felt so proud of herself, her self-composed song was praised by strangers who she had never met, unlike her parents who had criticized her. A big smile spread on her face and tears came to her eyes.
Afterward, the crowd begins putting money in her guitar case and a man in a black suit approached her. "That was a great song. Bravo." He said as he clapped for her again. "Now my dear, that is what I call talent. Your voice is so angelic and peaceful."
Melody was stunned by the reaction of this man, "Really? Thank you."
"Yes, the best voice I've heard in years. Now you must come with me. He is love's your voice." Said the man grabbing onto her hand and started pulling her.
"Wait! Where are we going? And who love's my voice?" Meldoy protested.
"He is a top producer who produces this country's best singers. And you have caught his eye after that marvelous performance."
"But it wasn't that great, my voice was not that stable."
"Well darling, according to him you're the best he's ever seen. Now come, we must not keep him waiting." He exclaimed.
Melody got into a fancy black car and was taken to a restaurant. "Now, now, go in, he's waiting for you." The man said signaling Melody into the restaurant.
"I couldn't possibly go in, look at these rags that I'm wearing," Meldoy said in protest.
"Don't worry honey, he already fell in love with your voice, so I won't matter." he crossed his arms. "Now off you go." He pushed Melody in.
The restaurant was brightly lit and empty. There was only one person whose back was to Melody. She nervously, slowly started to approach him. With every step that she took, she could feel her heart beat faster and faster until she finally faced the man. He had brown hair slicked back, green eyes, and luscious lips and looked like he was in his 20's. "h-hello, my name is M-Melody Aubrey."
"Don't be nervous, there is nothing to be nervous about. Now, your voice is beautiful and you could become world famous with it. All you need to do is sign this contract here and we will begin tomorrow. So what do you say?"
"U-Umm, I-."
"Where are my manners, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Enzo de la Rue, only France's number one producer." He cleared his throat. "Now, will you sign the contract?'
Melody thought to herself for a while. this is all I've always wanted, now it's right in front of me. So I will take this once in a lifetime opportunity. "Yes! Yes!" She exclaimed with joy. "Where do I sign?"
"Here and here." Enzo pointed.
After Melody finished, Enzo snapped his fingers and the man who had taken me here came in and took the papers away. With a smile plastered on his face, Enzo said. "now that it has been done, you will begin tomorrow. Meet me here again, you will be doing your first performance for wealthy people. Now don't disappoint me. I'll see you then." With that, he got up and left.
Before Melody could respond, she was left in silence. She let out a sigh of relief. Her dreams had finally come true. "The number one producer in France has picked me." She squealed. "oh my god, what am I going to wear tomorrow? I have nothing." She said as she put her hands in her hair in frustration.
"Wait! The money I got from my song is should be enough to buy me something nice for tomorrow." Melody put her hands up in happiness.
And off she was to find a store to buy herself a new dress.
