The ship was quiet upon Nekros entering, the pale blue floors echoing the clicking of his heels as the dark form slowly moved down the ramp and past the resting Kavat. Glowing blue eyes watched him pass but made no move to stop the frame from entering further into the ship. He had been here many times before and this was not going to be the last time he arrived either. Normally there would be other voices upon the ship but with just a few words, they had cleared onto the nearby craft; leaving only one behind. Slowly the frame stopped before the doors of the personal quarters where he could hear the soft music playing over the hushed sniffling of tears. It tore at remaining heart he had left.

The doors to the room opened with a quiet hiss before clicking shut, the sniffling stopping for a moment as a purple and silver accented helm slowly raised to look over to him. Zephyr had no words as she stared him at him, her crest having fallen and normally bright pale eyes were dark with crying. She wanted to say something but the words were caught in her throat as she watched him draw closer to her and sit upon the couch, dark arms reaching out and pulling her effortlessly into his chest. Long clawed fingers slowly stroked along her back as he cradled her, waiting for the moment she'd tell him what had brought this upon. He did not have to wait long. "He came for me Nekros, the Stalker came for me and he showed me who I was before you..." She whispered out in a broken tone, so different from her normal happy and full of life she had always spoken to him with. "You remember how I told you before I joined you all that I had been with another crew...?" Slowly he nodded, the wisps from his head lazily bobbing with the movement. "Before that, before what drove them to try and kill me as well; we had stood proud protectors. We appeared at the Terminus, gleaming and victorious. The Emperors, breathless, bathed us in silks... Then came the sound. Across all their worlds, all at once, the ceremonial Naga drums." Zephyr stopped with a shaky breath as she shifted to rest her head upon his shoulder, her own clawed fingers digging into his sides slightly.

"It was a royal salute to us. Ten beats to declare their suffering was over. But we were not standing stoic and silent. We were waiting. We were poised." Zephyr's clawed fingers dug in further, drawing a small noise from Nekros but she did not seem to hear the discomfort she was causing him. "When the ninth beat rang... a torrent of blood filled the stadium, our blades took them. The drums, the Empire, fell silent forever. It was my fault, it was all my fault." Zephyr's head shook as she began to cry once more. "I am not a hero, I am not innocent; I have slain those I swore to protect."

A hiccup of crying was the only break that followed suit as Nekros slowly stroked her back, pressing his scared mouthplate to her gilded helm. "We retreated to the ship, yelling and screaming at each other; blades at each other's throats as blame was casted around... They settled it upon me as the leader of the squad. They attacked me, wounded me; and if we had not crashed into the planet below... I would be dead." Zephyr finally whispered upon her crying settling down, her grip on Nekros finally loosening after reaching a painful level. "I dragged myself from the ship, into that cave I was found. I should have stayed there... I should have stayed and died."

There was a sudden shift from the figure she had been laying upon, the once gentle stroking having been replaced by a strong embrace and the face of Nekros buried into the side of her neck. "Zephyr, this universe shines brighter with you here. You bring happiness to so many and you protect the others, you show no fear of anything or anyone; please do not loose yourself because of something a life time ago. I do not want to loose the woman I love to this... guilt that she had not known of, I do not want to loose what makes me happy." Nekros murmured with his deep voice, sending a small shiver down the silver tipped frame.

"Nekros..."

"You May remember now, and you may not be innocent; but you are strong and I will be here to protect you." Slowly Zephyr pulled back from Nekros then cupped his face with her clawed fingers, dragging one along his cheek before she pressed gentle kisses and returned to simply laying upon him.

"Thank you Nekros." Zephyr murmured as she shut her eyes, finally coming to peace with her sins and resting. The next time Nekros would see the Stalker, he would show him the reason to fear death; no one hurt his Zephyr. No one.

"Anything for you my love..."

Author note:
Hey guys! Just to clear some of this up, this is around a rp with me an a friend; he has Nekros prime and I have Zephyr prime. We have the frames as their own being entirely and the operator is just a member of the ship, often remaining in his room because he's to weak to stay away for long periods. We also have it with two ships, mine consisting of the lady frames and his consisting of the men frames.
My Zephyr has a purple base with darker purple marks and silver accents with a pale purple energy for anyone trying to picture her.
His Nekros has the Irkalla skin with black body and grey energy along with silver accents.
I used the stalker's quote of describing the events of the tennos turning against those they saved and used them for this.
If you want to see more from our rps, be sure to let me know!
Our pairings:
Banshee x Rhino
Nekros x Zephyr
Gara x Harrow
Ash x Khora
Trinity x Loki

Lastly if you liked this my lovelies, slap a ship name for the pair in the comments! Can't wait to see what you come up with! :>
