"Thanks for letting me stay, Tom." I said quietly, putting the last box in my new room. "Hey, it's no problem. I missed my baby sis." he said with a smile, wrapping his arms around me and giving me a kiss on my head.  "We can finish unpacking tomorrow, the lads want to go out tonight." "As in drinking, and partying and bringing home trashy girls from the club? No thanks." I teased. "Oh come on, don't you wanna see the lads?" "Well, yeah...but-" "Too late! You already said yes!" Tom dragged me from the room and downstairs and to my surprise, Tom's girlfriend was sitting on the couch waiting for us. "Cadence!" she quickly stood up and pulled me into a hug. "It's so nice to see you again!" I smiled as Kelsey let go of me. "You too." "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Tom took us both by the arm and led us out the door.

When we got to the club, Tom and Kelsey quickly abandoned me. No surprise there. I sat alone at the bar most of the night, silently sipping my Coca-Cola, trying my best to ignore the guys around me. I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I turned around to a familiar face. "Cadence? Hey, long time no see!" it was Nathan. "Come on, let's go outside." Nathan gently took my hand and led me outside of the club. "I didn't know you were visiting Tom...he never tells me anything!" I laughed a little as we started walking. "I'm actually living with Tom now." I commented, looking down at our hands still linked together. "Really?" "Yeah," I could feel my hands starting to get sweaty. I quickly took my hand from Nathan's and wiped it on my jeans. "Sorry." I mumbled. "What for?" he questioned, taking my hand back. "Do you want me to walk you home?" "Y-yeah...thanks."

We were silent for quite a while until Nathan spoke. "So why are you living with Tom?" I shrugged. "I missed him...and living at home got too difficult for me, I guess." I felt his thumb gently rub the side of my hand and I swallowed hard. "Thanks for everything, Nath. But I think I got it from here." I said, taking my hand from his and stepping away from him. "Are you sure?" I nodded. "Yup. I'll talk to you tomorrow though, okay?" "Y-yeah...sure." Nathan stuttered. I gave him a small smile before turning the corner.

I felt tears begin to form in my eyes as I made my way home. I didn't want to get close to anyone, especially Nathan.
