"Jesus Penny can you like, for one second, walk in a damn straight line and not trip little children over." Alice, my best friend, chuckled at me.
She leaned over me on the ground after I tripped over a small child and face planted onto the ground in the middle of the food court.
"Alice do you even know me? I don't even need alcohol to lose my ability to walk in a straight line."
We both laughed rather unattractively and walked into Starbucks. After we'd ordered our drinks we sat down and basically just talked about boys. That's all we ever talk about. Ever.
Ever.
A short while into the conversation Alice's eyes widened in surprise and she couldn't spit out her words. It sounded like she was saying "Huke Lemmons" but I couldn't be too sure.
"hey Alice, come back to earth for a sec? We were talking about Lu-" she cut me off by kicking me and smiling.
"Penelope Jayne Hindmarch for once in your life you have to trust my life decisions. Go and take my cup to the bin over there."
"But you're not finished your drink?"
"This is a sacrifice I'm willing to make."
I had absolutely no idea what the hell she was babbling on about, but then again. I never do. So I picked up her half empty drink and walked over to the bin.
Still drinking my drink I spun around to head back to the table when I ran into someone.
Someone with big blue eyes and blonde quiffed-up hair. Someone who was taller than mt Everest. Someone with a black lip ring. Someone named Luke Hemmings.
"Ohh Huke Lemmings," I thought back to what Alice had been mumbling.
"Actually it's Luke Hemmings but close enough." He smirked down at me. I was brought to sudden realisation of the situation I was in.
"Oh my god I'm so so so sorry I didn't mean to spill my drink all over you Luke." I felt the heat rise to my cheeks and I knew I was blushing. Luke looked down at his drink before pulling off the lid and tipping it onto my shirt.
"Oops I didn't mean that oh my god I'm so sorry I'm so clumsy silly me." He winked at me. I covered my hands over my chest to try and hide the fact that my shirt had become see through.
I looked awkwardly over at Alice to see that she had already been intertwined with a boy with brown curly hair. Ashton. Jesus that girl works fast.
Suddenly Luke pulled off his unzipped jacket and handed it to me.
"I'm genuinely sorry I forgot white went see through I'm such an idiot." I threw on his jacket and smiled awkwardly at him.
"hey I didn't catch your name." He said to me.
"Penny."
"Well Penny, what do you say we ditch the two love birds over there and we head back to my place. We both need to get cleaned up a bit." He bit his lip in anticipation.
Surely he knows what he's doing, right?
I nodded as Luke grabbed my hand and locked out fingers together. Our hands found each other's without any awkwardness at all. Almost as if they were two pieces of a puzzle that finally for together.
When we got to Luke's apartment he through off his shirt and it landed on the couch.
"hey I'm gonna order a couple of pizzas and we can watch movies because I'm actually really hungry right now and yeh." He called out from the kitchen. I smiled to myself and sat on his couch, admiring his toned stomach from the other room.
