History/ Background: Minzy was born on December 8, 2001 along with her older twin brother, Taemin. Minzy's mom, Chaeyong, had a rough relationship with their father. When Minzy was 9, her mom and dad had divorced and her and her brother lived with their mom. Minzy was bulled in Middle School. When Minzy was 11, she had discovered her love for dance and taught herself how to dance. Minzy became a trainee a year after her brother. Taemin was 14 when he had entered and Minzy was 15 when she was a trainee.
Scouted by BigHit: Minzy was in a secret underground dance team when she was scouted. She was found dancing against another person in a battle, which she had won. Minzy had though it was a scam when she was handed a card, but nonetheless called because her brother was in the agency. She called and was tested. She became a trainee for 2, almost 3 years, before debuting with HExx.
