I was 9 when my mom first hit me. I remember it like it was just yesterday.
I was starving, you could even see my ribs. It was like I was invisible. She fed the dog more than she fed me. I remember taking food out of the pantry when we were low on money. I thought I could get away with it. But right as I closed the pantry she she caught me red-handed holding a bag a chips. I remember her taking belt off and whipping me right on the back with it. She's hit me on the hand or on the arm before but never heard as much as this. I ran to my room in tears.
When I was 14 it was the first time she took her cigarette and burned me on the back with it. It hurts so bad.
I've tried telling people about the burns and what my mom does to me, but whenever they're meet her she's always the sweetest thing to them and never shows any signs of abuse. She puts it in places you would notice. But when she's around me she acts like I am just a mistake and she burns me, hits me, kicks me, and locks me in my room.
I'm a straight A student by mom doesn't even care. At school everyone thinks I'm just a regular student but trust me it's hard fake smile. I purposely get detention just so I won't have to go home as early, but it made things worse. Instead my mom would hit me harder from coming home from school late and getting a detention.
