The ground beneath your feet is dry and pieces occasionally fall into the seemingly endless abyss in front of you.
Yelling in surprise, you jump back as the ground beneath you crumbles and falls.

You remind yourself for the thousandth time to be careful as you take another picture on your phone.

Your friends were happy to dare you to get as close as you could to the pit of Mt. Ebott and take pictures, not caring if you fell in.

You need better friends.

On the way up the mountain, you could have sworn that something or someone was following you.

Hopefully not.

You step closer to the pit after testing the ground to make sure it's stable. You think you hear footsteps behind you, but you decide against it. Nothing would be stupid enough to go this close.

Except you.

You were never that smart anyway.

Suddenly, you are sure you hear footsteps. You start to turn away.
Not fast enough.

Too late.
