The crash

The Crash Chapter 2

Jake jumped to protect me and I blacked out...

I slightly opened my eyes, to see nothing but flames and blood. I felt a huge pain on my left knee. I looked towards my right. Jake was lying there; his beautiful face was filled with agony. I remembered him jumping in front of me, to block the car from hitting me. I wasn't sure why...

I then fainted because of blood loss.

I heard in the background someone talking.

"Mira Bennet, 16 years, 5,7. Major blood loss, and broken knee cap."

Slowly, as if arising out of a dark abyss, I began to regain consciousness. I opened my eyes cautiously, as if the light would somehow blind me forever.

"Oh! Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, your daughter is waking up now."

"MIRA!" yelled my mom.

"Hey...Mom... dad..."

"Mira! Are you ok? What happened?" asked my Dad.

"Well... I remember the car hitting the bus, and Ja--..."

"Ja--? Who's that? What happened with this Ja--?" asked the doctor.

Well, if you let me finish my sentence, maybe you know whom the hell I'm talking about!

"His name is Jake. He saved me. He kind of jumped out in front of me so I wouldn't get hit."

"Jake Cipher, Room 239. He suffered a serious head injury. He was on that bus as well, is he this, Jake?" asked the doctor.

Yeah, that's him... I was a little afraid. I wasn't sure why he saved me. He just jumped in front of me. I remember it so clearly; when he jumped he grabbed my shoulders. He whispered in my ear but I'm not sure what he had told me, all the yelling... God damn it! What did he say... I'm sorry Jake! I feel like this is my fault...

"Doctor, may I go see Jake?" I asked quietly.

"Mira its best if you stay here!" yelled my mom.

"Its alright, she can get up." The doctor insisted.

He rolled over a wheelchair, and helped me out of the bed.

I'm coming Jake.

"Here we are, Jake's room. I'll leave you two alone." Said the Doctor.

From what I read his name was Doctor Stacy. So I kind of giggled.

Jake... His Face and His beautiful hair.

I rolled over to his side. Wondering desperately why he had saved me. What he had whispered in my ear.

"Jake. I'm sorry for what has happened..."

I stared him down. And noticed his mouth smile a little bit. He must have been having a good dream.

"Jake... why? Why did you save me?"

Is he fake sleeping?? He keeps smiling at everything I say...

Jake's hand touched my face, He 'WOKE' up. He pulled me to him.

He asked me, "Do you Love me?"

I was in shock, I didn't fully understand what was going on.

"Well? Do you?"

Wha--?! Why do you need to know buster! No boy! I don't LOVEEEE you, I like you. Not Love!!

I showed the most shocked face and I just rolled out of the room.

"Mira"

"Yes?"

"Are you going to the party tonight still?"

"Yes."

"I'll see you there Mira."

His warm hands, when he touched my face. It felt so amazing. His grey eyes, just staring at my eyes "Do you Love me?" But what would I have said.. I couldn't have said Yes, he would think I'm a freak, and if I said no, well that's mean.. I guess..

I headed home. Thinking of what I should wear to the party.
