The school hasn't changed a bit since I last saw it. Same old boring classrooms and yellow lockers lining the walls.

I only notice a few new faces which makes me a bit annoyed. People bother me a lot for some reason but I just keep all of my feelings within myself.

There's only a few people that I can actually stand in this school.

But walking around the halls feels different for some reason. My shoulders feel bare even though I'm wearing my cardigan.

Maybe I just miss having an arm wrapped around my shoulder.

Damon was always there for me and I never left his sight around school. Except when we were in different classes. We only had one class together which was English and we were always did partner work with each other. He even pleaded to have his seat changed next to me.

It was sort of annoying but it was okay because I loved him.

Loved.

He's only part of my past. Just thinking about him makes me want to take a knife to his throat.

At first he treated me like I was the only light in his life but after, all he managed to do was obliterate my fragile self.

I look down at the schedule in my hand and see that my first period class was algebra.

Great what a way to start off the year, with a subject I despise the most.

Walking through the door of the classroom, I spy a familiar someone.

Shit.

It's the boy I saw before school this morning. He's seated on the far left near the window. Thankfully he doesn't notice me or else I would become more of an awkward mess than I already am.

I hastily take a seat in the back corner of the room. The teacher gives me a quick smile before he looks back down at his desk.

People flood in the classroom as the warning bell rings.

As soon as the teacher starts blabbering about the year assignments my mind drifts off to another world. Whenever I'm in class I think of scenarios barely relating to school.

I actually think of things as the complete opposite. My imagination consists of starting a new life and forgetting about every obstacle in my way.

But reality sucks and dreams are fictitious for a reason.

~~~~~~
My eyes instantly open as I hear the ear-piercing sound of the bell.
Eyes still blurry, I clumsily snatch my bag from the back of the chair and trip over somebody's foot.
"Sorry." I apologize without looking up.
"Make sure you get your eyes checked, you look a little dizzy" a voice chuckles.
I glance up and come in contact with the most brightest eyes I've ever seen.
It's him. Finally I see all of his facial features. When he smiles, his eyes kind of crinkle and his dimples form in both of his cheeks. His dark curls are placed perfectly on his head and look so smooth that I try to fight the urge to run my fingers through them.
I can't help but smile as he towers over me while smirking cheekily. He reaches his hand toward me and hoists me up.
"You sure you're fine?"
"Yea, I guess my eyes went a little crazy- Hey aren't you new?"
The only way of getting to know more about him is showing him around. Why not give that a try?
"I am." He beamed.
"Well if you ever need someone to help you around, I'm always here." I wink as I stride away.
Even though I'm facing the opposite direction, I still feel his eyes wandering up and down my body.
My heart flutters at the thought of him and the world around me is starting to become more content.
