A few minutes later all the guests were sitting in the living room. Jasper opened the door and smiled. –"Hello people. It's been too long, and it's certainly my fault. I've finally decide to stop isolating myself. You must be Oskar"- said Jasper pointing at Martha's husband, -"Yes, I'm Martha's husband"- "I thought so, we never officially met, I'm sorry I didn't come to your wedding."-he turned and looked at Jaq-"Oh, dear Jaqueline, how long. I'm sorry that I didn't go to your wedding either, but at least we have talked on the phone"- Jaq made a small cold smile, and nodded confirming what he just said. –"Well, the house isn't that big, it has a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, and a conservatory on the first floor, and five bedrooms with ensuite on the second floor. Then there's the basement but you have no reason to go there. It's my art study so it's all messy."- Jasper looks at the wall clock and rubs his hand –"I think its dinner time, don't you?"- The guests walk to the dining room and sit in the assigned seats. –"You have already met Jasmine, right?"- asks Jasper –"Miss Smith he means"- responds his mother –"She is a very nice lady, why is she stuck working for you?"- "I pay her well"- laughs Jasper. –"So, Tristan, Martha I bet you have a lot of stories to tell me"- "I'm more interested in hearing your stories, actually brother"- said Martha –"My stories?"- scoffed Jasper –"I haven't done anything in the last ten years, apart from sleeping, eating and painting"- an awkward silence fell upon the table. –"I'm sure you did more than that...but who's cooking this delicious food?"-asked Trev trying to change subject –"Rafael Samonsa, he's my Brazilian chef. He's the best chef in England, but he has agreed to work for me full time"- replied Jasper –"Well Jasmine, please give him my compliments"- Miss Smith that was pouring the wine, nodded and walked out of the room.
-"Please Trev don't flirt with Jasmine, she's too good for you"- told him Jasper, -"How can I not? She's beautiful, it would be a waste to leave her alone"- joked Trev. The dinner went on, and Trev and Jasper talked and laughed about the old times in school. Martha told him about her plans for her spa, Tristan described him his plans to expand his fashion company, Jaq told him about their honeymoon, Oskar about his shoe industry, and Jean-Marie about her rehab. It was a nice evening and everything seemed back to normal. After dinner, they had drinks in the conservatory and then went to bed.
The next morning they all woke up to Jasmine screaming in horror. Tristan who was nearer to the scream, runned out of his room, into Jasper's. He looked around, and saw Jasmine staring at something in the ensuite. He walked up to her, and stared in horror to the scene in front of him. Jasper was in his bath tub, pale and still. Tristan tried to find a heart beat in vain. Martha reached the bathroom, and sat crying. Oskar and Jaq, waited outside the room, trying to not intrude. Jean-Marie fainted on Jaspers bed. Jasmine called the police and an ambulance for Jean. The ambulance arrived fairly quick and took both of them to the hospital. In the meantime the police started setting up a crime scene. The hospital called. They confirmed to the guests that Jasper was dead. Still no idea how though. The police told the guests that it was obviously an homicide, and that startled all of them. The hospital also told them that Jasper had no medical issues from the past, no allergies, no asthma, no medical conditions, nothing that would imply natural death. A homicide in the house was no jokes, and they still had to stay there for another week. Unfortunately for them they also had to be questioned.
