Blood dripped from the cut of my Master's blade to my face. I jumped back from where I stood to avoid his next attack and stumble a little.

He chuckled behind his mask.

I knew that I will never win against him, considering of my situation. A prodigy martial artist who's still a student against the master of shadows.

He appeared in front of me in a blink of an eye then attempted to stab me which he successfully did. I took the chance of him being near me as I ignited my energy to my kamas and attack him which it impaled his shoulder, stealing a portion of health and heals my stabbed abdomen.

Master jumped back, "Not bad."

I clicked my tongue.

I hate him. And I do my very best to surpass him.

Three clones of shadows suddenly appeared, circling me.

"Too bad. You're not going to win, Akali." he said before charging to me.

He's going to mark his prey. But....

Not today, shadow freak.

In an instant, bomb of smoke suddenly envelope the surroundings which caused him to stop and scan his surroundings. Though my shroud reduced his speed, I, on the other hand, gained total invisibility and mobility speed.

Shroud is my best and secret weapon. Because inside it, I am invincible. And of course, I was never called the Prodigy for nothing.

I threw a kama at his original body, marking him. He suddenly became silent and unsteady. I dash to him through the shadows, completely invulnerable as I ignite my other kama with another powerful energy and kicked him down then slash him, bursting a damage.

The smoke lifted as the fall of my master blew the wind. I was on top of him, ready to slice him for good, with an intent of killing him.

Yes. Intent of killing him.

He blocked it with his blade with a chuckle, "You never ceases to surprise me, Akali. No wonder you are my favorite. Most of my students always hesitates on killing me. But you, not even a single hint of hesitations."

"Of course. You deserve death afterall. Even though you are my master. But hey, you killed your master, right?" I sighed, not letting my guard down.

"You girl," I felt amusement in his voice. "... The weak deserves death."

"I will make sure that you will deserve death. So make sure you don't show any mercy when I am around. Like what you did to your master." I pushed my glowing kama, inching to his scarred mask.

"You are indeed my favorite, Akali." he said then two of his shadows kicked me away from his original body. It was a good thing that I blocked it with my hands but his shadows' strengths are just inhumane.

He held his impaled shoulders that are currently bleeding.

I stood up gently.

"You win." he said.

The rule was that if I ever make him bleed, I win.

And I just won against my master. That means, I've improved my abilities and dexterity. Also by channelling my energies to my weapons.

I smiled.

"I have no need to explain on what you have improved. I know that you already know." he said out loud, "Head to your quarter and rest. Tomorrow, you will spar with the other students."

He started heading off to his own room. I wonder if he heals. I do heal with the help of my 'magical' energy, which I learned from my journey towards here.

I only know basic informations of my Master. His name is Zed. He murdered his master, which I have no idea who. He have a boastful laugh that whenever he laughs, I just want to punch him on the throat. He plays with his shadows like the freak he is. He got defeated by his own shadow from some game and he dramatically falls down to the puddle of shadows. He is weird that it worries me being under some crazy weird master.

Those are the only things I know. I've never ever seen his face. He never took off his metal mask which it leads me to wonder how he doesn't feel being suffocated in it. Does it burns when the temperature is hot? Or does it freeze his face when its autumn and winter?

When I reach my quarter, I cleaned myself and bandage myself nicely. Sure, I do heal, but not as fast as any of the other creatures. I then drop my body to my bed and closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Shen looking at me.

Memories. My past trainings with my comrade's rival. Memories that I shouldn't be visiting anymore. Memories with Zed.

Its been a while since I was joined to the Kinkou Order. It was Shen who made me do so. He said that he sees potential in me. That he knew that I am a prodigal daughter of my deceased mother whom I succeeded her title: The Fist of Shadow.

Few years ago, I believe that I was beaten up and threw to the river I wanted to leave when Zed killed my mother. I wanted to leave when I told him to kill me but he didn't. I was leaving when he showed mercy to me. I've told him that I will come back, and kill him. But then, when I was on my way to leave, someone tried to kill me. Though, he didn't actually killed me. He just beaten me so badly then threw me.

Based from the methods he uses, it wasn't Zed. But whoever he is, I don't care.

I sighed, just you wait, Zed. Just you wait.

"Akali! Let's go!" Shen called.

I came back to my senses and sighed. I jumped from roof to roof to catch up and chase the culprit that has been bringing chaos to the town.

"Sorry." I apologized.

He shook his head gently, not even looking at me, "Its fine. I know it's hard to forget."

"There are some things that shouldn't be forgotten."

We ran together alongside with Kennen, chasing whoever that bastard who caused chaos.
