On a nice, sunny day at Luna Nova, Atsuko Kagari was sleeping peacefully on her bed at the dormitory. She decided not to go back to Japan this summer because the professors assigned her many things to do. Even if they didn't, she would like to stay anyway, so that she can learn and practice magic with Professor Chariot. Miss Kagari really meant it when she said she wanted to become a brilliant witch. No more slacking; it's time to get serious!

The alarm clock rang noisily. Akko reached her arm and snooze it. She continued to sleep soundly. This had been the fifth time this morning...

Her puce-haired friend, Sucy glanced at her from her desk. She turned back to her experimental mushroom and giggled. She reached for it, but then saw the calendar and hesitated. She shrugged and reached for another mushroom and yanked it out. Sucy turned to the snoring Akko and smiled.

Sucy decided to stay at the academy over the summer as well since she wanted to take care of her mushrooms. After all, her babies need constant care and nourishment. She smiled happily at her proud shrooms and giggled creepily. She couldn't wait to see them grow into their best.

Sucy looked at the mushroom in her hand and then at Akko. She sighed and thought, Oh well, it should be okay to waste one on Akko...

She started to powder the mushroom and add more stuff into it. She grinded them up real good until it turned into liquid. After it's done, she poured it into a flask. She smiled at her successful potion and then glanced at Akko once more.

Sucy got up from her seat and walked toward Akko. She opened her mouth wide and placed a funnel there. Finally, she poured the content of the flask in it. Akko, who was sleeping, swallowed the whole potion.

Suddenly, Akko shotted her eyes wide open and jumped up. Like usual, she hit her head on the bunk bed above her and cried in pain. She rubbed her head and yelled at Sucy, "I felt that Sucy!! What did you make me drink this time!?!"

"Ku ku ku. You'll thank me later," Sucy said and went back to tend to her mushrooms.

"You are terrible! Ouch..." Akko tried to nurse the bump on her head. She looked at the clock besides her and shouted, "Oh no! I'm late!"

She quickly changed from her pyjamas to her school uniform and ran out the door. "Professor Chariot will be mad at me!" she cried.

Sucy watched Akko ran off. "Eww. She didn't even clean her face..," she murmured.

Akko ran to the tower where Chariot resides. She quickly climb up the spiral stairs and barged into her room. "Chariot!" she shouted between her heaving, "I'm... sorry!! That I'm... late!!"

Professor Chariot was tending to her familiar, Arcas beforr Akko forced herself into her room. "Akko, did you over slept again? How many times do I have to tell you? If you're really serious, then-" she froze when she turned her head to see her pupil.

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again!" Akko plead.

Chariot blinked and said, "It's okay, Akko." She then turned to her desk and tried to find something. "Wait here, Akko. There is something-"

Akko looked at the big clock on the wall and shouted, "Oh, I have to go now! I'm late! Sorry, professor!!!" She ran out of the door.

"What? Wait, Akko!" the young professor cried after but could not be herd by her student.
