A Tamed Beast

Chapter 1 Hell Fire

        I was just a little pup my wings barely big enough to carry my own weight and my horn was just a little nub, I jumped out of the bath and shook so I could dry my white orange striped fur. I quickly ran out of the castle's washroom to ask my mother to read me a fable before bed. I walked into my mom and dad's room and they were laying on their bed. I nuzzled my mom with my snout but she wouldn't wake up. 

        She just laid there so then I bit her ear lightly, still no response. I walked over to my dad's body and did the same to him but he didn't wake either. I crawled under his limp arm for comfort, so I wouldn't feel so alone, because I felt a fear of something. I was terrified of it, but how can you be scared of something you don't know of or about. 

        My fear faded as I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a warm liquid on my paw. When I looked it was a dark color, crimson red. Blood. My mind registered it almost immediately. I turned my head to the window as I heard yelps and barks outside the castle. 

        I walked over to see the guards battling some celestial creatures like me but they looked more demonic than celestial and they didn't look wolf-like, they had dark, almost black matted fur and bat wings their horns weren't curved to the front, the skinny twig-like horns curved back. After a few minutes, there was silence I looked back out the window to see all of the Sun colony dead or dying. I had to leave. I needed the Moon colony's help. 

        I sucked in a shaky breath and with all the power and strength I had I teleported to the moon hoping for even the slightest of help. I blocked my mind out as I saw my home drift and the cold familiar light of the moon welcomed me. This was gonna take a lot to get used to even if I had been here before.
