A Suprising Necklace Chase

The police had their VS Changers ready to destroy her but they couldn't with Kairi in the way, they were unable to fire "Out of the way Thief!" Tsukasa said in a bitter voice but Kairi showed no signs of moving and Keiichirou got more angered "Move!" He shouted and Kairi's eyes soured "Stay away from her." He said bitterly

Kairi quickly turned to Escape "Run." He whispered to her but she shook her head "No, I'm not leaving." She said and Kairi grabbed her hands "Please, go." He said as he wanted to protect her and she nodded and run as fast as she could far away from them all as Kairi faced the Patrangers "Her collection piece is ours. Stay away." He warned with a sour look and walked away.

Keiichirou, Sakuya and Tsukasa all looked at each other "What do we do Keiichirou-sempai?" Sakuya asked as Sakuya and Tsukasa didn't know what to do next and so looked to Keiichirou. "Let's pursue them both, with a injured arm she shouldn't have gotten far." He said and Sakuya and Tsukasa agreed "Let's go." Tsukasa said and they all ran after Kairi and Escape.

Escape had managed to run all the way to the abandoned coastline as it hadn't been used in 10 years so she found it safe to hide. By the time she arrived, her hair was a mess and she sat down on a rock to straighten it. "I got out of there with my life, but why would he save me?" She wondered to herself.

Kairi managed to find her on the coast and saw her straightening her hair and decided to go over to her "Are you ok?" He asked kindly with a smile and she looked over to him "Yeah, I'm ok, why did you save me back there?" She asked him with her head tilted to the side and he smiled to himself "I couldn't let you get hurt, I care about you." He said and and brushed a few strands of her short dark hair from her eyes which instantly made her blush.

She looked at him for a moment and thought to herself "Why would you care about someone who is made of data?" She asked him and he smiled at her "You're special, you're not emotionless, you have a heart and a good one at that?" He said, smiling at her and she managed to smile back at him.

All of a sudden, they both felt a connection between them and Escape's eyes seemed to sparkle and he smiled at stroked her soft hair which made her blush again and he smiled "You're so..beautiful." He smiled and she looked at him "No one has ever said that to me before." She whispered and she looked down at her hands. Kairi raised her cheek to meet his eyes and she looked right at him.

Kairi didn't want to give anything else a second thought and kissed her lips very softly. She was very surprised that he was kissing her but she smiled and eventually kissed him back. They broke the kiss about a minute later and they smiled at each other "That was amazing." She whispered and he nodded "It was." He said while smiling.

Escape knew that he was a good person and knew what she needed to do and took off her necklace and placed it in his hand "I want you to have this." She said softly and he looked at her, shocked "Your necklace, I couldn't." He said, protesting and wanting her to take it back "Please, you need this more than me." She smiled and closed his hand around it. Kairi looked at her and smiled faintly at her and looked at her necklace.

"Please don't forget me." He said to her and she smiled "I never will." She said and he smiled and kissed her again. She blushed and stood up "I should go, the police will be looking for me." She said and he nodded "I'll always be there to protect you when you need me." Kairi said with a smile and so did she "Thanks...Kairi." She said standing up and disappearing into data and he smiled "You're welcome...Escape."

He had a smile on his face walking back to the Bistrot as he knew that one was definitely for certain. He was in love with Escape. She started to become a regular at the Bistrot when the Patrangers weren't around and she and the Lupinrangers became very good friends, Kairi and her were very close and he loved her very much and she felt the same.

(I like to think that this story shows that opposites really do attract. A human and an Avatar. I hope you enjoyed reading this fanfic and much as I did writing it.)
