-Louis' POV-

"Louis, get down here! You're gonna be late for school."

Shit! it's already 6:30.

"Coming mum"

I yelled from the top of the steps. Late for my first day of school? No way was that happening.

"It took you long enough sweetie. Here, eat some breakfast."

"I don't have enough time. I can't miss the bus."

"Ugh, why can't you be more like Liam."

Liam is my step brother. He's okay, I guess. Besides the fact that I am always being compared to him. So what, my grades aren't the best and I'm not the most friendliest person.

His dad married my mum a couple of years ago and since then, we've shared a room. Lemme tell you something, he's not the perfect cup of tea either.

It doesn't matter anyway. I need to focus since it is the first day of school and all. Not that I care. I just can't let people know my secret. If anyone found out that I was gay, I would never hear the end of it. No one knows. Not even my mum. I don't mind though, keeping my feelings in has never been a problem for me. I just avoid talking to people so I don't accidentally let it slip.

••••• (after school)

My first day of school was usual. Stupid, know-it-all teachers and annoying as hell classmates. Home was where I could finally relax and I couldn't be more thrilled.

"Hey Lou, Liam is bringing a friend over to study. Make sure you're nice."

"Yeah, yeah."

Studying already? It was the first day if school, what could they possibly have to study?

My mum was always like this. She didn't want anyone to have a bad impression on our family. God knows why. She didn't have to worry about much. Except for me of course. Let's just say I'm not always the nicest.

I walked up to my room to be greeted by a smiling Liam.

"Hey Louis. I don't know if mum told you or not, but I'm having a friend over. I think you'll like him."

"Yeah, whatever"

Before I knew it, I heard a knock at the door. I guess that him. I continued to lie on my bed as Liam stood up to go greet him at the door.

I could kind of hear his voice from my room. It was deep and raspy. I had to see what this guy looked like.

As if someone answered my thoughts, the tall, curly-haired boy walked into Liam and I's room and sat on the bed. Liam followed and sat right next to him.

"Hey Lou, this is Harry Styles, my friend."

I wasn't going to deny that he was very attractive. His green eyes seemingly looking at my lip ring. I don't know why I got it, but I never thought much of it. His body was sculpted to perfection in his black t-shirt, but I couldn't stop looking at the luscious curls atop his head. Oh what I would pay to just run my fingers through them.

"Uh hey"

Holy shit. He sounded so hot. I started to sweat.

"Hi. Uh I'm Louis."

"Cool. I guess you already know I'm Harry."

I chuckled and grinned.

"Yeah..."

Could this get any more awkward?

"Ok. Uh Lou is it okay if we study hear."

It was Liam.

"Yeah. Of course. Go ahead."

I acted like I was on my phone, but really I was just listening to their conversation.

"Okay so let's review our notes and then go and read some of the chapter."

I had no idea what they were talking about but it didn't matter. I just loved hearing him talk.

Something about this kid made me want to be friends with him. I didn't know what, but I wanted to talk to him more. I was kind of scared to admit it, but I was overly jealous that Liam got to be friends with Harry and I didn't.

This Harry kid is going to be the death of me.
