Step Brothers

Chapter 3

-Harry's POV-

I didn't think much of him. Besides the fact that he is Liam's stepbrother. We didn't talk much in school, even though we had some of the same classes. To be honest, at school he kinda scared me. His reputation wasn't the best either. When he asked me to hang out, I thought maybe he felt left out and maybe I was talking too much to Liam at our studying sessions. Not that he would be interested in the studying part. Maybe we could be friends.

After writing and rewriting different texts to Louis, I finally decided on just asking him to eat pizza. We're just hanging out as friends. Maybe I can get to know him better. I am so glad he said yes. I mean of course he would, he's the one who asked to hang out in the first place. But I had to tell him what time tomorrow.

"6?"

"Sounds good"

••••••(5:30 the next day)

It was finally time to leave. I put on a polo shirt and a pair of khakis and left. I wasn't nervous, I was just shy and scared that it would be awkward. Before I knew it, I was at the pizza place and knowing that he was inside made me scared. Why was I like this around him? I had no idea.

I walked inside and looked around for him. He was at a table in the back, secluded from the rest. Here goes nothing.

"Hey Louis. Nice place."

"Thanks. It has really good pizza."

"So why did you ask me to hang with you anyway?"

"I don't know I mean, I see you with Liam a lot and he has to like you for some reason so I thought 'why not give it a shot'."

It was like we knew each other for years. We literally talked for hours. It started with the pizza. We both liked mushrooms and peppers on our pizza and that's when we had a fight about what was better; mushrooms or peppers. The conversation escalated from there. No wonder Liam likes this kid.

"Well I guess I should get going."

Louis says. It is getting kinda late.

"K Lou."

Maybe this can be his nickname

"Lou?"

"It's a nickname for ya."

"Oh I like it."

"So are you driving home?"

"No, I walked."

He walked? It's pretty cold out. Poor thing.

"Oh well, I'll drive you. I insist."

"Really? Thanks. I owe you."

Of course I had to offer to drive him home. If I knew he was walking, I would have drove him to the restaurant as well. It's chilly out and I wouldn't want him getting cold.

Woahhhh I sound like his boyfriend or something. I should lay off the pizzas.

We got to my car.

"So, here it is. It's nothing special."

"This is nice."

I knew that my car was crap and he was just trying to be nice, but I wasn't going to say anything.

Louis was shivering.

"Here, want my jacket?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Are you sure. It's okay."

I wrapped my coat around his shoulders and he didn't resist. I knew he wanted it. I got in the car and turned on the heat. Extra high for Louis.

It was a quick ride home. About 10 minutes. Louis fell asleep in the passenger seat as we arrived at his house. Soft snores escaped his mouth and to be honest, he looked kinda beautiful with the moonlight reflecting off of his face. Of course I had to wake him. I couldn't let him get home too late.

"Hey, Lou. Wake up."

"Huh? Oh did I fall asleep?"

"Yeah."

"Sorry."

"There's nothing to apologize about."

"Thanks for the ride."

"No problem."

He got out of the car with my jacket wrapped around him firmly. I figured I would let him keep it for now.

"Bye Lou."

"Bye Haz."

I drove off to my house, thinking of the night I just had. He was a nice guy and I could tell we were gonna be good friends. Behind the piercings and tattoos, he's really sweet. I would have never guessed. I got home just before midnight. We were gone for that long? I went to my room and pulled out my phone.

"Again tomorrow?"

I texted him. I hope he had as good of a time as I did. He texted back almost instantly.

"Sure. Maybe this will become a normal thing. I had a good time tonight."

"Yeah. Me too. See you tomorrow Lou. Tell Liam I said 'hi'. Now get some sleep. It's pretty late."

"K. Bye Haz. That's my nickname for you. I stole it from Liam."

"Lou and Haz. I like it."
