(A/N hiii sorry it's been so long I had writer's block :// anyways here's a pic of Samantha xx)

(Austin's POV)

I wipe the sweat off my face as I attempt to regain my breath. Rolling onto my back in the white silky sheets of the hotel, I glance at the patterned ceiling with a chandelier hanging from the center. My gaze travels slowly around the hazy room, clouded with cigarette smoke until my eyes fall back onto the beautiful girl lying next to me. Samantha Willis.

I didn't know how to feel about our rekindled relationship. We both had the same depth of interest in each other, which consisted of strictly sex and nothing else. I expected our reunion to feel more... passionate? Fire-y? Instead it just felt like we were trying to complete a task instead of enjoying the moment. I wondered when it would stop feeling like that. I wondered if I'd ever feel that enjoyment with someone.

I felt Samantha's body climb from the sheets next to me as she moved towards the mini fridge. She pulled out the tiny bottle of vodka within, unscrewing the top and downing the containments. I hated hard liquor, I usually settled for a Coors Light or a Corona. Watching this woman swallow alcohol like it was water was not very attractive.

I sighed, rubbing over my eyes as I tried to get a handle on the situation. I desperately wanted her to leave now, but the way she was currently sitting on the compact kitchen counter told me that she was not going anywhere any time soon.

"What, was I not as fun as you remembered?" She rasped after chugging a bottle of water. The way she said it almost sounded like she was mocking me - there wasn't a hint of embarrassment in her tone.

"No, you were great," I was quick to say. "I need another cigarette though." I pulled out my slowly depleting pack of Marlboro's while making my way towards the balcony. Samantha's small footsteps followed me outside before she wrapped her arms around my shoulders from behind and attempted to relax me by rubbing my upper chest. Her touch was cold, as it was this entire night. She didn't use to feel so distant.

It wasn't until another 30 minutes of awkward silence had passed by before she decided to gather her things and part ways. There wasn't really a goodbye, just a simple nod and tight smile. Her perfume still masked the room like an aura of her presence. I missed the way we were last time I was in this city. She was bright, happy, and undeniably the sexiest woman I had ever slept with. I came here in hopes of finding that same girl tonight.

After the hotel door locked behind the ghost of the girl I once knew, I flopped down on the end of the king sized bed, face down with my limbs sprawled across the duvet. I sighed multiple times as I contemplated what to do with the rest of my time in New York now that I no longer had Samantha to look forward to. I knew that Samantha and I would no longer be seeing each other, and that was ok. Maybe I wasn't ready for love yet. Maybe it would never come. Only time would tell, I guess.

(Caroline's POV)

"No way, the girl ACTUALLY tried to jump on your back to get closer to the stage?!" I gasped in shock as Thomas continued to tell me a crazy fan story. Our night was spent walking down block after block as I showed him around New York City. It was his first time in the Big Apple, which made it even better to show him all the sights that caused his jaw to drop. At some point he had grabbed my hand, and up until this point he hadn't let it go.

We now stood at the entrance of Haley and I's small apartment complex, hating the fact that we had to say goodbye. Fortunately we had exchanged numbers and he promised he would see me tomorrow after Post's interview. He even invited me to the interview itself, which I declined to seeing as I had a job to get to in the morning.

Our goodbye was reluctant and long, and I knew Thomas wanted to kiss me. He held off though, instead settling for a kiss to my hand that caused blood to rush to my cheeks.

After his departure, I floated towards the kitchen in a boy-inflicted daze. I was just about to reach for some Ben & Jerry's ice cream when I heard the personalized ringtone for Haley coming from my bag.

"Hello?" I spoke after rummaging through my bag for the device.

"Caroline, youu won't believe thisshh but I'm.. in a Range Rover right now with Post Malone!" I heard Haley's drunk, giggly voice reply.

"Haley, why are you in his car? Where's Nate, I thought he was taking you home? Are you even coming home?"

There was a second of shuffling heard before a new voice spoke. "Hi, sorry this is Austin not your friend here. I was driving down the block near The Lottery and saw her stumbling over her own two feet by herself. I'm driving her home, but she's making it difficult to do so when she won't give me a damn address." He huffed. Holy hell, another curveball just got thrown at me.

"U-Uh, Maple Lead Apartments on 6th Street." I spluttered, in shock that I was talking to a world-wide famous rapper over the phone.

"Thanks mystery girl, we'll see you soon." And that was all that was spoken before the line went dead.

(A/N again, sorry it's been so long! Forgive me!!!)
