I never really was a fan of Halloween.
I simply didn't like the holiday too much, but my sister just so happened to be batty about the holiday--- really!
"Marckus! Marckus!" she screeched, tugging furiously on my shirt sleeve. "I wanna go to the spooky house this year." She held out a little flyer, and I plucked it out of her teeny hands and began reading it out loud.
"Hemlock annual haunted house tours. Free for residents, 5$ each for visitors. Have the scare of your lifetime! Open Oct. 29th 6-8 PM."I shook my head. "It's just another stupid and fake house, dolled up to look like a real abandoned, haunted place!" I groaned and gave her a death glare, but softened up when I noticed the tears welling up in her eyes.
"Fine, fine! We can go, ok?" I hissed through gritted teeth, and the instant I did my little sister hopped up and down with joy, and began to tug even harder on my sleeves. I led her out the door, and held onto her hand as we headed outside, with the faint crunching of leaves under our feet greeting us.

It didn't take long before we had reached the "haunted" house. It was of about average size, and looked in pretty decent condition, but with a few cobwebs and dark stains here and there. I could have surveyed it for longer than I did, but my sis didn't want to bother wasting any time. She pulled me right up to the entrance where the familiar face of the staff member ahead greeted us.
"Heya, Marckus!" She chimed, patting me on the shoulder. "Y'all can go on right ahead!" she then held open the door to the house for us, and we quietly went inside.

The whole thing was set up kind of like a maze. You were supposed to go one way, picking one of two paths until you got to the end. If you picked the wrong path--- you got spooked! Unluckily enough, we managed to pick the wrong paths almost the whole time. Guys with chainsaws kept leaping out at us, scary clowns tried to catch us, and zombies even crawled after us! I didn't really enjoy it that much--after all, I had already seen every trick in the book! However, the best part didn't come until when we finally had managed to exit the maze.
I gave my sis a high five, then I saw something in front of us. It was... A floating figure. It looked like a person, all white except for its eyes, which were blood red and blank but leaking a dark substance. I was really unimpressed with everything I had seen up until now. This prop really and truly looked terrifying, it sent shivers down my spine.
When I got out, I decided to wave down our ticketmaster friend and thank her.
"Hey! Hey, Alex," I called excitedly to her. "Thanks for setting this all up and whatever, it was really good."
Alex nods and gives a wide, beaming smile. "It's no prob, aye? Glad you two had fun!"
"Yeah, of course! I really liked the spooky bloody eyes ghost at the end, it really scared me."
At the mention of the bleeding ghost prop, Alex looks confused."Marckus... we didn't put any bloody eye ghosts in the haunted house."
It's then that the realization hits me, and my blood runs cold.

HorrorAn extremely short story about a boy and his sis going to a haunted house. I am horrendously good at titles. Crap story art by me. This is a story that has never seen the light of day for like-- 2 years until now.
