It was the fourth night of Jimin's stay.
He was getting ready for bed, thinking over last night's events. Will there be more scratches tonight?
He thought, questioning his mental well-being. No one was at the door when he answered...so...was he just imagining it?
Probably.
He shrugged off the thought of last night, and fell back onto his bed, actually wearing pajamas this time. Sleep came quickly.
So did the scratching.
Scrrraaaaaaattttccchhh scratch scratch scritch scratch
Jimin woke up.
He rubbed his eyes and flung off his existent blankets, throwing his feet over the side of the bed.
He was going to figure out what was making that scratching noise. Tonight.
He was in front of the door.
He quietly put his hand on the doornob and turned.
He opened the door, ever so quietly...
He brought his face down to peek through the crack...
He saw...
...
...
A bunny?!
Tf?!
There was literally a bunny, standing outside his front door.
It couldn't have been the bunny clawing the door.
Jimin stepped out of his room and looked both ways down the hall. Nothing.
He must have missed the culprit.
Shoot dang.
He glanced back down at the bunny in bewilderment.
How did it get there?
Shrugging his passive horror film character shoulders, he thought nothing more of it.He would call it Scratchy. Not because it had fleas, but because it showed up when he heard scratches.
It could have fleas, though. Who knows?
He bent down to pick it up, when, as he reached his hands out, Scratchy did a very unexpected thing.
He raised his tiny paw, and, with one flick of his tiny arm, he sprouted a claw.
It wasn't your average sized claw, either.
It was a massive, long, black and raggedly sharp claw, threatening to claw Jimin's whole eye out in one swipe.
He gulped.
Shoot dang.
That's when it hit him: I need to get back in the room and close this door. Right. Now.
He flung himself backward, slamming the door shut with a powerful force, and locking it tight.
He then ran to the bathroom and closed that door, also locking that one tight. Or so he thought.
Outside the bathroom, the bunny had already scratched his way through the first door, having sprouted a second claw.
Jimin was panicking. The thing would get to him within seconds. He had to figure out a plan. He didn't have his phone. He had left it on the bedside table. It was charging.
He put his head to the door, quietly, and heard the bunny hybrid thing clawing at the wood.
He made his escape.
He flung the door open as hard as he could, squishing Scratchy against the wall as it slammed open.
He then grabbed his phone, opened it up, and switched on his camera.
He then ran as fast as he could, toward the small kitchen area, and grabbed a frying pan.
He was all geared up.
He waited, standing on top of the bed.
And waited.
And waited.
Why wasn't it coming?
After waiting for about five minutes, he decided it was safe.
Cautiously jumping off of the bed, he tiptoed to the bathroom door.
He closed it, revealing Scratchy.
The bunny was lying on the ground, stiff, as if the impact of the squish had severely injured him, or worse.
Jimin fell to his knees.
"No! You can't do this to me. I don't want you to die!" He tragically cried, his tears falling onto the bunny's soft fur. "Scratchy, wake up! You were like a brother to me!"
He sniffled.
After weeping over his faithful friend for about half an hour, he gently picked up the bunny and brought it to the kitchen counter. He would bury it tomorrow.
He figured, if the bunny was faking his death, then it would be better to act like a friend instead of a foe.
He left some baby carrots on the counter, in case it awoke.
Then he hopped back in bed and fell fast asleep.
