  After that night Betty and Jughead went back to their apartment hand in hand as they walked up the stairs. The smiles never left their faces until they got back to their apartment. But even after that they still had smiles on their faces, until Betty realized something: how the hell are they going to tell people?! Jughead saw Betty's worries look and looked down at her with a smile and asked "babe, you okay?" Betty replied with a soft "yeah" but Jughead knew she wasn't okay. "Betts, what's wrong?" He asked with a worried look on his face. "It's just that I'm scared to tell my mom." Jughead knew how controlling Betty's mom was and he knew that Betty's mom would want to plan their whole wedding and not let anyone else even try to help. "Sweetheart, I understand but we have to tell her sooner or later." Jughead said caressing Betty's cheek with wide eyes. "I know, but let's tell your family first." Betty replied with a cute little smile. "Anything for you my love, Jughead said kissing Betty real quick on the lips. Jughead goes to grab the phone to call his parents. Jughead didn't know how his mother, Gladys would react but he knew FP would be thrilled. The phone rings three times before FP picks up. Betty and Jughead both were a little nervous. Okay maybe a lot nervous. But Jughead knew that he had to be strong for Betty. FP's voice boomed our of the phone speaker saying "hey son, what's up?" "Hey dad, Betty and I need to tell you something important." "OMG son, is Betty pregnant?" "No dad... we're engaged!" "Son that's amazing! Congratulations!" "Thanks dad we will keep you updated on everything! Bye dad." "Bye son." "Betts my dad is so happy! But not happier than me, love." "Jughead Jones, I love you so much." "And I love you more Betty Cooper." Next, Betty and Jughead had to call Gladys. Which Jughead and Betty both super nervous about because Gladys has always hated engagements and thought they were very cheesy. Jughead dialed Gladys number and after 5 rings she picked up. "Hey sweetheart, what do you need?" "Hey mom, me and Betty have a surprise for you!" "OMG is Betty pregnant?" "No! We're engaged!" "Oh I'm happy. I hope you didn't give a cheesey speech. Well I got to go, keep my updated." "What mo-" Jughead didn't get to finish cause Gladys had hung up the phone. "Sooooo how did your mom react?" Betty questioned with a worried look on her face. "She's happy for us." Jughead knew that Gladys wasn't that happy and he knew that it was wrong to lie to Betty, the person he loves. "Yay I'm so happy!" Betty said with a cute smile that could make anyone happy. Now it was time for the hard part. Telling Betty's mom. Alice is so controlling and will do anything to get in their lives more than she already is. And as for Hal, almost everyone Betty knew had cut him out of their lives after the devastating news that he was the blackhood. Betty was thinking about inviting her dad but Jughead had talked her out of it and she's sure a lot of people will. Betty picked up the phone and dialed Alice's number. 2 rings and she picks up. "Hey sweetie." "Hi mom, me and Jug need to tell you something." "Oh no, what is it." "We're engaged!" "OMG Betty I'm so happy for you! I can't wait to have a big white wedding! And of course I'm gonna help you plan!" Alice really didn't stop babbling until Betty interfered. "No mom! I'm not having a big white wedding and I'm not having the wedding you want me to have, and that's that!" "Well if I can't plan your wedding I'm not going! Goodbye Elizabeth!" "Mom!" Jug, she hung up and said "if I can't see plan it I'm not going." "Betty I'm so sorry that your mom is so controlling." Jughead says wrapping his arms around Betty. "It's whatever. Let's call Veronica and Archie." Veronica and Archie had also been living together in a nice apartment in riverdale. Betty and Jug dial Veronica's phone number and after 5 rings she picks up. Betty and Jug had Veronica on speaker phone. "Hey V, me and jug need to tell you something." "OMG is everything okay?" "Yeah we're fine! Get Archie too." Betty and Jug can hear Veronica over the phone yelling for Archie. "Hey guys what's up?" Archie speaks over the phone. "We need to tell you and Veronica something." Betty and Jughead say it at the same time "we're engaged!" "OMG B we're so happy for you guys!" "Congratulations!" Archie yells over the phone. "Okay we gotta go but we will keep you updated on everything." "Bye guys." Betty and Jug were so happy by the way Veronica and Archie reacted. And they were so excited that Veronica and Archie wanted to participate in important preparations for the wedding. Now Betty and Jug has to tell Cheryl and Toni, who were also living together in a apartment in riverdale. Jughead dialed Toni's number and she picked up after 3 rings. "Hey Toni." Jughead said with a smile on his face. "Hey Jughead what's up?" "Toni, me and Betty need to tell you and Cheryl something." "Is everything okay?" "Yeah could you just get Cheryl?" "Yeah" Betty and Jug heard Toni calling Cheryl's name over the phone. Toni told Cheryl that Betty and Jughead had to tell them something. "Guys, we are engaged!" "OMG you guys!" Cheryl's voice boomed over the speaker. "OMG congratulations! We are so happy for you!" Toni's voice came over the phone. "Okay we have to go but we will keep you posted on everything." Betty spoke. "Okay, bye guys!" "Bye." That night Betty and Jug had taken hours to tell all of their friends about their engagement and most of them were thrilled. After that long night Betty and Jughead had decided to settle down and watch a movie together. They were sat on the couch. Jughead lying on his back and Betty lying on top of him on her stomach. All night while watching their movie, Rebel Without A Cause, Betty and Jughead played with eachothers hands and intertwined them. Jughead made little circles with his fingers on Betty's back. Betty put her head up to face Jughead. "Jug, I love you so much and I can't wait to marry you and to live the rest of my life with you. I always knew that you were the one I loved and I will always love you." Betty said to Jughead then kissing him softly on the lips. "Betty Cooper, I love you too and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. And I'll never stop loving you." Jughead kissed Betty on the forehead. Betty laid her head back down and drifted of to sleep in Jughead's arms. The love of her life. Her soulmate. Her forever. And her always.
