BIANCA's POV

Grayson and I were just embracing each other when Ang sped over to us, whispered something to Gray, and darted off towards the woods, dragging Ethan behind her.

"What'd she say?" I question.

"She said they're going to get more firewood, just incase," Grayson explains. The tension between us is so thick, right now. I just nod my head and avert my gaze. "Why were you ignoring me today?" he asks out of nowhere. My head snaps up and I give him a confused look before replying.

"You ignored me first, when we were in the pool. I thought you just didn't want my company." He looks down, embarrassed.

"I was just... upset with Ethan. He almost told who I liked, and I'm sorry for taking it out on you," Grayson says. He awkwardly looks away.

"It's okay. I should've asked what was wrong instead of being upset with you," I apologize. Then, I realize that he said he likes someone, and smirk. "Well, who do you like?" I question, raising my eyebrows.

His eyes go wide, and a small blush tints his cheeks and ears. "Promise you won't laugh or anything?" he asks. I nod, eager to hear his answer. Then, I realize that it's probably not me. He would never like me! Right? My thoughts are interrupted when Gray clears his throat.

"You there? I thought I lost you for a second," he laughs.

"I'm here. So go on, tell me," I grin.

"Okay, I like... you," he whispers the last part. My cheeks flare up with redness, and I smirk to myself.

"What? I didn't hear you. Who is it, again?" I mess with him.

"You," he says a little louder. I keep up my games.

"Who?"

"YOU!" he yells out this time. He's flustered.

"Well I like you, too, Bailey."

"Really?" he asks, in shock and ignoring the fact that I called him Bailey. He hated it in PreK.

"Really." He smiles at me. His smile. It's so uplifting. It can make any situation feel better, even if it was already good to begin with! I snap out of my daze and realize I've been staring at him once he speaks up.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" he chuckles.

I feel my face heat up and my eyes slightly widen. "Well.. I'm a daydreamer and you're just, really handsome," I gush with heart eyes. I swear I see his face brighten, even under the midnight blue sky, as I say that.

"Well, you're very pretty," he giggles. I feel the heat rush into my cheeks as I divert my eyes and look at the ground in an attempt to hide my blush. Grayson lifts my chin so I'm looking into his hazel eyes. He stares into my eyes and takes a quick glance down at my lips. Is this it? Is my ultimate crush about to kiss me? Please Lord, don't have anything ruin this moment. We both lean in. Oh my gosh, this is happening. We inch closer and closer to each other. It's really happening. His lips graze mine. Suddenly, we pull apart to the sound of quiet footsteps and giggles as Ethan and Ang approach the fire; glued to each other. Ethan holds sticks and twigs in his left hand and Angelina's hand in his right.

"'Sup, guys." Ethan greets us. "Got more firewood," he says and tosses the sticks into the fire, only to be consumed by the raging flames. Ang doesn't say anything. She just clings to Ethan's arm and looks at the ground. She looks, almost, scared. Ethan seems to notice the awkwardness and let's go of Ang and speaks to Gray. "Yo, Gray, come help me clean out the bunny's box."

I look up. "I wanna do it!" I complain.

"No, you stay here, and, uh, talk to Ang," he smiles before dashing off towards the small box, with his brother trailing not too far behind. Great. This is going to be so uncomfortable!

"Hey," Ang starts, her voice barely audible.

"Hey," I reply casually. I'm not really sure what I should say, right now. She yelled at me first!

"I-I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. I was just frustrated, and wasn't thinking straight. I get like that, sometimes. It just happens! I-I just hold it all in and it explodes out of me all at once," she rambles on. "And it's fine if you don't forgive me right away, I'd be upset if I were you. I'm used to it. Take your time and-" she doesn't get a chance to finish her sorrowful rant before I interrupt her.

"Angelina, Ang, it's okay, really, it is! It was only a little misunderstanding." I lower my voice, "I know I can get annoying at times." She chuckles weakly. "So I completely understand where you're coming from, and I forgive you. I'm not going to hold a grudge on something so petty." She smiles. No words are needed when she bolts forward, arms outstretched, towards me. Since I'm a few inches taller than Ang, upon impact, I wrap my arms around her shoulders as she locks hers around my waist. Despite her being short, she's still strong and lifts me off the ground unexpectedly. I scream and she laughs at me. As she's putting me down, I look to my left and see Ethan giving me a thumbs up. Grayson winks at me, then laughs. It's nice to have all the tension being broken up, especially when said tension is woven between the people you're closest with. It feels like freedom, like you don't have to be afraid you'll mess up and make things worse. I love it. So much.
