Ara's POV

Last night, Jimin's parents called him and informed us that they agreed with our marriage but his mother was such a pain in the ass that she demanded for a DNA test of the baby just to make sure it was Jimin's and not other guys' seeds.

I literally groaned in annoyance when I heard that from Jimin and I knew we were fcked up if she still insisted to check on it.

"Look, I'll try to persuade my mom to not check--"

"Your mom would still want me to do the DNA test, Jimin." I sighed in annoyance for the umpteenth time already while running my hand through my hair.

He joined me sighing too until we heard the doorbell not long after that. Signalling his parents were already waiting for us to go for the check up.

"Hey," Jimin called, his hand snaking to mine as our fingers entwined together. That somehow soothe me a little. He looked at me in the eyes, beaming his smile. "Don't worry too much. Everything will be okay." Jimin said while carressing the back of my hand with his thumb.

I couldn't help but to utter, "I hope so." In a weak voice.

And so we greeted his parents at the outside. Mr Park was friendly, I could see where Jimin got his handsome face from. Bet, girls were after him back when he was young.

The ride to the hospital was silence and I could feel cold glare from his mother at the corner of my eyes since she was sitting at the back with me while Jimin at the front seat.

As we arrived, Mrs Park already said that she already booked the appointment and that all I have to do was just walk inside and get my check up done.

Jimin stayed with me for the whole time and everything went smoothly with the doctor asking normal questions she usually asked to an early pregnant stage woman like me.

Until suddenly, Mrs Park interfered, "Can we do DNA test on the baby? Just to check if the father is really my son or not."

Jimin snarled at his mom, totally glared her with that cold gaze on his eyes. "Eomma, we talked about this already. It is mine!"

"And I need proof!" She yelled back at him, earning an awkward smile from the doctor in front of us which embarrased me a lot.

Great. She must have think I fck around a lot now.

"But the baby is still young to do some DNA test--"

"Then, when can we check?" She cut her out immediately.

Seeing how impatient she was, the doctor then explained, "DNA testing can be done as early as the end of the first trimester of pregnancy, starting any time after the 8th week with the SNP microarray procedure, or during the 10th week through the CVS procedure. Ara's baby is still young for that since it is still in its 5th week."

"It's okay, I'll book the next appointment the next 3 weeks when she hit 8 weeks." Mrs Park said before she left Jimin and me alone in the room with the doctor.

Everything was so silent until she smiled at us and opened her mouth, "Well, do you want to hear the baby's heartbeat?"

Jimin's eyes flickered in joy and so did mine. This is my first check up and I was so nervous with Mrs Park sticking her nose around in my business and all but having Jimin by my side, comforting me with soft and encouraging words, I couldn't help but to feel at ease a little.
