❝ Most mysteries are forgotten, but I'm glad this one is solved ❞
Eleanor Sergeant could be happier with her life. Working as a secretary at an already dull office job, her biggest concern was messing up the spelling of certain words and coffee orders, as well as people finding out that she and her twin brother's names spelled out 'Eleanor Rigby,' as per their parents' obsession with The Beatles. She was fine with her life, she was financially stable and had enough free time to spend joking around with her friends who had a much more interesting career than she ever would, but like every single woman her age, she wanted more adventure than the humdrum of her life.
Of course, when she thought of adventure, she expected a tall, dark, and handsome man in a sports car with money to spare and a hotel room with pay-per-view, not a space ship picking her up on her way back home after surprising her brother at his job in Upstate New York. Suddenly, she was far from home on a ship run by intergalactic slave traders, on her way to the central trading hub where she would be sold to some alien creature to do who-knows-what for the rest of her life.
Enter the Guardians of the Galaxy. Infiltrating the ship, they were only meant to take a quick look inside, to figure out what they were up against, but soon found themselves in the company of Eleanor, who had hitched a ride after spotting their ship. After quick introductions, she soon realized she had just found the whereabouts of the nation's missing child: Peter Quill. The boy Eleanor had been thinking about since she heard about his disappearance on the TV at age eight, she didn't know what to think, finding him roaming space while his grandfather had died not knowing where his grandson had gone.
Joining them on their mission to take down the trading system once and for all, Eleanor finds herself connecting with Peter, reminding him of the family and people he left behind for the people he now loves. But as they learn more about each other and draw ever farther from
Earth, the two begin to find the balance of letting go of the past without forgetting the ones who got them to the present.CAST
