A little homesick

Addison POV

I awoke with a start. It was completely silent.

Unlike bustling old Faith, where the roosters crowed in the early hours of morning.

Union was great. I loved everything.

I still went back down memory lane to Faith.

Course I had started a new chapter in my life. A more suitable one. I was still looking for a job yes, but I babysat Florence's children which I absolutely adored. They were the cutest things and not much work at all.

I had a letter from Rosa which I hadn't opened yet.

I got out of bed quickly and dressed in a plain blue dress with its corset and a little gray shawl. I saw Rosa's letter on my writing desk.

Of course. I grabbed it quickly.

Once it was open, I read it.

I finished and I almost had a heart attack.

Cody wouldn't eat? Wouldn't sleep? Wouldn't change his clothes? Wouldn't go out?

Oh dear!

I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a quick letter.

Dear Cody,

Hello and greetings from Union City. I got Rosa's letter and I understand. You are depressed because of me. Well let me tell you something. You're going to find a nice girl to marry. Someone who deserves you. I don't deserve you. I've done so much bad...so much sinning. I must continue to make my life great again. You were wonderful to me and I miss you very dearly. I will come visit some day. But please Cody...eat. sleep. change you clothes. go out. Go on a date!

I love and miss you and hope you continue to be strong,

Addison
