Chapter 2

Maka's POV

We got up in the morning just in time for school. Soul was the first one awake and he made breakfast for me. Woah, I didnt know he could cook, and he cooks good!

"Eat up," he said, "we have a big day ahead of us."

"Itadakimasu!"

The mission was in Africa, where a tribe found an ancient statue. It is said that every night it would devour a person's soul and hide their body. Hundreds have gone missing and only 13 bodies were found.

"I am really excited for this mission! I mean, we get to travel to Africa. How cool is that?!" I exclaimed.

Soul's POV

I wonder who else is going to be assigned with us. I mean, Crona definitely will come. He has Ragnarok. Then there is Death the Kid, with Liz and Patty. Black Star and Tsubaki. Last but not least, Justin and his music. He really needs to unplug his headphones.

"Stein-kun," Lord Death speaking, "assist this group on their trip to Africa, please. It is a far distance but they can battle for themselves. Soul and Maka stick together."

Maka and I say, "Hai!"

***Note, Hai means yes in Japanese***

"Kid, Liz, Patty, Black Star and Tsubaki, keep Crona company. If this mission feels like it is too much for you, then back out now. Otherwise, I wish you the best of luck and send you off."

"Goodbye!"

"Bai-bai~!"
