Prologue ~ Anna
"Anna! Please come down here!" Mrs. B's voice echoed through the small building. I struggled out of the bed, tripping on the sheets, 'cause I was moving to fast. I landed on my face, groaning at the pain. I pushed myself off of the hard wooden floor and walked down the stairs.
I tripped on the carpet covering the wood staircase, falling down them and repeatedly hitting my head on them. I landed on the floor, wincing at the pain in my head, I grabbed my head, felling the red sticky liquid ooze out of my head.
"Oh my gosh!" I heard a different voice other than Mrs. B yell out. I looked up, seeing three figures surrounding me. I felt a hand on my shoulder and someone picked me up, running out from the small orphanage and to a car. I heard faint voices screaming out, some frantic, some calm yet scared.
"Anna, please, stay with me," a voice begged. That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.
