I tried to think back to how my life got to this. I never imagined it'd get this bad but somehow here I am wondering what I can do to take it all back. Everything was going as planned then next thing I know I'm upside down on a cold silver pole with flashing neon lights highlighting the sparkle of tears in my eyes. Why me? is all I can think as the bills fell to the stage and the men looked at me with lust in their eyes. This wasn't always such a task for me.

I used to love dancing but at some point this became a chore; putting on the lashes that look like I could fly away with a bat of my eyes, donning the skimpy outfits that I knew my mother would hate to see me in, strutting in these 8 inch heels that after about 2 hours of work I'd run to the dressing room to kick off. There was something so Glitz N Glam about it all. Before the Cardi B's, Black Chyna's and Amber Roses was me. Hell nah I never blew up like they did but I did make my money, and damn that was the life. So why was I so unhappy ? Maybe it happened when I was younger, maybe it was my own fault or perhaps I was just exaggerating and nothing is really as bad as it seems. Whatever the case, I was in need of a serious pick-me-up and I knew exactly who to go to.

"Well look who's here, I wasn't expecting you to come until later "   I sat down next to one of my favorite customers, we'll call him Seven. Seven was there almost 4 nights a week and whenever he missed one of my shifts he definitely made up for it next time he saw me. He was wearing his usual all black Tom Ford suit with a purple paisley pocket square and shiny black  patent leather Steve Madden loafers.  He leaned back in the red suede booth and motioned for me to sit next to him. I gladly took a seat and began to vent to him for the billionth time this week. I don't know when exactly I started to trust him so deeply but now I swear I trust him with my life.

When I first saw him I thought to myself Damn, what's a suave niggah like that doing in a place like this , he arrogantly strutted his stuff to the bar and ordered a drink and by the looks of it he ordered a double Hennessy on ice. His eyes caught mine as I lazily circled the pole waiting for more customers to file in. He took the opportunity to come to the stage and introduce himself "I'm ... Seven. What's your name beautiful"  HOLY SHIT his voice. I bout melted right there on the stage. He spoke with precision and even over the booming music his subtle voice reached my ears with ease.

I thought he was just another whack ass dude in the club who would waste my time but boy was I wrong. He catered to my every demand, bought me endless drinks, paid thousands for dances, this man even rubbed my feet for me instead of getting lap dances sometimes. I was in pure bliss, I don't think he could get any more perfect. We'd talk for hours, almost my whole shift, getting to know each other, learning what we liked and didn't like. Where we'd travel to if we ever made a life for each other outside of the club. I even found myself catching feelings and getting jealous whenever he got a dance from one the other skanky girls who worked with me.

The first time I saw him outside of the club was actually pure coincidence. I was headed out the door of Walmart with my bags in one hand and my cell phone in the other. I wasn't really paying attention and next thing I know I'm bumping into what feels like a brick damn wall. But it was no wall, it was Seven's sexy ass looking at me with disgust and intrigue. "Oh shit! I'm so sorry"  He just kept looking at me not saying a word. I stuttered my way around a few words before he shut me up by asking me out to dinner. Well of course I was about to say yes but not before realizing that bumping into his solid ass made me drop my phone. "FUCK" was the only thing I could get out of my mouth. I remember thinking how I was going to get it replaced. I'd just started dancing, I didn't have to money to get it fixed yet let alone pay my bills! I guess he noticed to look on my face and offered to get me a new one on the condition that I went out to dinner with him. That night.
