I wake up to the sound ping! ping! ping! and I started to get annoyed, I wasn't completely awake yet. I start to open my eyes and put on my glasses. I look at my phone to see so many notifications. My heart starts to race so I have to close my eyes for a second. I breathe and count to three. I start with texts. Most of them are saying things like "OMG" or "Did you see yet?????" so I decided to ignore them until I know what exactly is happening. Then I open Twitter, I don't really bother trying to read the hours of missed tweets, so I go to my notifications and see over 100 new followers. I almost fainted when I see people like Neck Deep, Ben Barlow, Bring Me The Horizon, State Champs, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Kellin Quinn, Vic Fuentes. The list goes on with my idols, they all followed me. I look at my mentions to see that video of yesterday when I performed. The same thing happened on Instagram. Without a clear mind, I jump in the shower, put in my contacts, put light makeup on and run out the door. For a minute I am not really aware of where I'm going. I just needed to get out. Then I decided to go to the coffee shop to see what's going on. I have to pull up a street away because of all the cars packing the normally empty parking lot. I go around the back entrance because Harry, the owner of the shop said if needed I could go there. I walk to his small office to see the usually open door, closed. I knock and hear a "Come in." I walked in and closed the door, I could hear the muffled voices from outside the office. "Harry, whats happening, my set was posted, people are blowing up my social media and your store is crazy." He looks me dead in the eye and says, "I need you to play." I was in a state of disbelief. The reason why I play here is because Harry knows about my stage fright and lets me play in this quiet place with few people. "Harry, I can't you know I can't. I want to but I can't. I'm sorry." He stands up and almost begs "At least get on the stage and calm them down." I don't want to let him down so I nod. I walk out of his office, eyes on the floor. I push my way through the many people. Some trying to get coffee, others looking for friends, and many are looking for me. I get on stage and grab the mic. Some eyes dart to me, but it's too loud to hear. I yell into the mic "Hello! I need everyone to get quiet, please. I have no idea what is going on, except that someone posted my set yesterday. As of right now, that is not important." I look at one of the baristas, "Can you move these centre tables to the sides of the place?" He nods and starts pushing them with help of some of the people. "If you are not here to buy coffee please sit in the center of the room where we have cleared some space. If you are here to buy coffee go ahead and order then, sit at these tables to clear some room." As people sit and some order, it becomes quieter and there is more room. I sit on the stool that I had just sat on the day before. "Now, raise your hand if you know what is happening." Some hands dart up, I point to the closest one. "I need you to come up here and explain to me what the hell is going on, then we will discuss. While she does this I need you guys to be quiet please." She stands up and comes over and pulls up a chair and says, "So there were some people here yesterday that had filmed your set. As soon as it was posted, many people saw it. It blew up in our culture really. So bands that we all like, assuming you understand when I say that, went and watched the video. I can only assume that they followed you. Now people want to know who you are and hear you play, we don't really know what the bands have to say because they've been quiet. That's it for right now." I thank her and she walks back to where she was sitting. "Alright everyone so I'm going to assume that you all know the basic information of what is going on. I'm sorry to say this, but I can't perform in front of you guys." I see the cameras and take a breath. "I have bad anxiety and some stage fright. I'm really sorry but I don't think I can." I hear yells of disagreement. Then I see Harry come up through the kids. " Y/N you have to do this. Think of these kids, they came to see you, they didn't come for coffee or for me. They came to hear your music, your voice! Plus think of how well the store will do after this, please Y/N please, I've let you perform here, I've helped you and now I need you to help me. Just imagine your singing to me and the baristas like you do every Tuesday." I look at his desperate eyes, the eyes that gave me sympathy and allowed me to play, no charge I didn't even have to buy anything, he just let me play and was always there for me. I nod my head and say "I left my guitar in my car, keep them busy I'll be back." I speak into the mic. "I'll be right back, behave please." I hear laughter as you walk out.
