Of course, my first step of action was to make friends. Specifically, with Zakia, standing right in front of me as we continued to walk in a single file line.
The way that she managed to stay calm and collected throughout everything was something that I liked, and was kinda jealous of.
I liked how sharp her eyes were to, looking like they could cut into the toughest of diamonds. So, I went up to her and prepared myself for a conversation I had already thought to myself about 23 times already.
"Hello there!"
She didn't answer, only glancing at me for a moment. Maybe she was as shy as me when it came to social interaction. That was okay. I still liked her anyway.
She stopped abruptly, as did I once I realized we had arrived at a door. The door itself was a light gray color, going well with the white walls.
A twisted the brass knob to the room, where the inside housed small chairs and tables that were meant for us. They looked rather rounded, almost like kindergarten chairs.
At the presumably front of the classroom was a whiteboard with a many expo markers, different colors as well. A desk was tucked into the corner opposite from the door, most likely for the teacher.
Then it occurred to me; why were we here in the first place? Before I had time to question A about it, he ushered us into seats. I took a seat that would allow me to be with Zakia.
There were only a couple of us, so the seats got filled in easily, even leaving some of the seats empty. A smiles at us from the front of the room, now holding his cane upwards as though it were a ruler.
"Now then kids, are there any questions that you have? Besides those that regard why you are here?"
No one raised their hand.
"I know that a lot of you are confused, but you will all learn later as to why you are here! However, you will be staying here for a very long time, so strap in for a smorgasbord of fun!"
Everyone laughed good naturally.
