1 hour after event

Charles' POV:

That was so scary! What were those people doing at the house? They were so creepy! Im into that kinda stuff, but I have never seen those things in my life. My plan was to either stay at the nearest hotel or at Debra's house, which was Alyssa's mom.

"Hey babe is it on this street?" I asked Alyssa.

"Yeah just take a right here," she replied.

We turned on Oakwood St. Alyssas' mom lived in a little white house, it was kinda like a condo. I hoped it was huge on the inside, and I hope theres a lot of food.

Alyssas' POV:

My mother got an hour notice that we were coming over. She was shocked, but she was fine with it. This is great cause I can show my mother my beautiful ring that Charles gave me.

"Are you excited?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I've met your mother before. She's so sweet," he replied.

"I can show her my ring you gave me," I said with a grin.

He kissed me on my cheek as we go out the car. I haven't seen my mother since graduation. Now my father thats a whole different story. Growing up, I barely saw my dad considering he was in the army. He couldn't make my graduation, but he did write me a very sincere letter which really got to me. But at least my mom was always by my side.

I rang the doorbell.

I could see my mom take a peek threw the window, she smiled as she saw us. She opened the door and the smell of "home" just hit me.

"It's so nice to see you two," Debra said hugging both of us.

"It's so nice to see you mom," I replied.

"Well it sure does smell good," Charles said.

I had so much to tell her so we all sat down in the living room as Debra made us all cups of coffee.

"Two sugars Chalres?" she asked him.

"Make it three, it's been a rough night," he replied.

"So what happened?" Debra asked us.

"Well let me start with the good news, Charles and I were heading to the summer home cause we just had dinner," I said.

"Okay, where did you plan on going afterwards?" she asked.

"Well thats when Charles took me down to our summer home," I replied.

"Was it still in good condition?" she said with a smirk

"You bet it was and when I walked inside they were rose pedals and candles all over, thanks to Charles," I said looking at him.

"Awe it didn't take that much effort," he said even though I knew he was being sarcastic.

"That's when Charles got on his knee and proposed!" I said showing her the ring.

Debra smiled as she looked at the ring. It was the moment she realized that her little girl was grown up and she was about to get married to this great guy. I can tell that by her face she was so happy, It felt as if all of her emotions were balled inside of her, I knew the tears were coming.

"Charles, you are getting quite a girl. Please take care of her," Debra said to Charles.

"Yes ma'am," he said.

"Alyssa, you've got such a big future in front of you. I'm so proud of you and what you have accomplished, and you earned yourself a keeper," she said with a wink.

"Thanks mom," I replied.

Debra wiped the tears away and continued to talk like nothing hapened.

"So what's the news?" Debra asked.

"Charles you take this one," I said to him.

"Well on our way to the summer home, in the middle of the road we saw these shadow like figures. They were so defined and they were all posed in physical movements," he described.

"Oh," she gasped.

"Then in the house, we heard noises come from downstairs. I went downstairs and there they were again just staring me straight in the eye," he said.

"I might know," Debra said as she got up and moved to another room.

She moved into a room with a lock. Inside it was like a library, filled with books galore! She pulled out a book covered in dust. She wiped away the dust and flipped to a page. The page read "Shadow People."

"Shadow people?" I asked.

"Shadow people are shadow like figures that may be demonic entities, ghosts, or other denizens of the dark realm," she answered.

"Why were they there?" Charles asked.

"They could be two things. One, they could be warning you for the worse. Two, they could be the "worse," Debra replied.

I knew that whatever we were dealing with could be good or bad. Whatever it was, I knew that it had to be destroyed.
