Evening; the sun was setting over the city, and everyone was heading home after their activities they had done. Street lamps-one by one-were lighting up to illuminate the streets, and people had either gone home or went to work the late shift.Sarah was in her room, browsing deviantArt. She had an interest in art and signed in last year. She mainly browsed through the galleries of artists who drew dragons, and often added them to her favorites; she loved dragons, no doubt about that. Her room was filled with them: posters, statues, plushies, and so on.The artist whom she mainly hooked to was a dragon-lover by the username "Werechu". everyday, Sarah read one of his stories about dragons. Most of them featured a black dragon with crimson eyes, a long mane, four wings, and three tails(as far as the description goes, anyway)called Wyraach Ur.His stories are so awesome. She thought as she read another story by Werechu. She was so busy that she didn't pay attention to the time, until she was done reading. Her eyes widened as she looked at her alarm clock-eleven fifty-eight-s gasping, she quickly shut off her computer and sprung into bed. That night, Sarah dreamed about being a dragon: having a pair of wings, a scaly body, and a tail. To fly through the clouds 'til she could almost touch them, without the need of being ordered about by others-especially humans-it was an unbridled idea; independence. She smiled as she slept, hoping her dream would come true someday.------The next morning, Sarah woke up to find nothing had changed; the day was the same, and nothing was even slightly different."Well, if I WERE a dragon..." she told herself. "Everyday would be different because I'd have a different mind."She decided not to think about it today, and proceeded her normal routines. By lunchtime, however, the weather changed: wind and rain buffeted the town, trees swayed like ships at sea, everything was wild. Sarah was in the house, watching T.V. and stretched out on the couch. She was about to fall asleep when the doorbell rang rather unexpectedly. She opened her eyes and got up, limping due to her tired legs. The doorbell kept ringing until she reached the door and opened it.Odd...thought Sarah; no one was there, as if someone deliberately played a prank on her and ran away as soon as they heard her footsteps. She was about to leave when something caught her eye: a small box with a note attached to it, not a single raindrop on either item. Surprised, she picked it up, and walked back inside before shutting the door behind her. Outside a shadowy figure watched from the distance; his crimson eyes staring at the silhouette of the human inside the house. He chuckled demonically."Ssssoon enough, my dearrr..." he hissed, lashing his long, forked tongue. "Ssssoon enough..."------Sarah stared at the box for quite some time, admiring the wonders of what contents it held. She took the note off the top, unfolding it and reading the message on it:A Queen should never hide herselfDarkness should never show itself,But both can be aligned togetherTo spread good upon each self. She didn't know why, but Sarah thought this was a trick, and decided to open the box just to make sure. She held it out away from her face, and lifted the lid carefully off...Nothing. It was safe to look inside. She moved the box close to her and looked inside, unaware of what was in store. In the box was three silver objects, they were shaped like rings and had spikes on each rim. One was large as her neck, the other two looked like they'd go on wrists, judging by their size and diameter. She took each cuff and held them to the light; they were real silver, because the glare hit her eyes, causing her to shut them.Sarah decided to wear the strange jewelry despite their appearance, and carefully put them on, starting with the neck-sized cuff and then the bracelets, before locking them into place; not knowing the storm outside was raging much fierce than before."Nice." she exclaimed, posing in front of a mirror. As she admired her beauty, a flash of lighting struck across the sky, and the room went black-the power went out-poor Sarah couldn't see a thing. Suddenly, she fell down without warning and onto the floor, she pushed herself back up. The power came back on and she wiped her forehead with relief. She looked down, and saw something unusual on the ground. A pool of red and black staining the carpet, and something round lying in the middle. She looked down and realized...it was her heart.Suddenly, she felt a wince of pain and shut her eyes tight. A voice broke through in her head as she twitched her body."Rrreleasssse your trrrue beauty, my dearrrr, embrace the pain..."She then felt a poking feeling as the skin on her arms fell off in bloody chunks, revealing blood-soaked black scales. The muscles swelled and bulkened, new ones growing while the old ones gained size. Her hands began to change, too; the fingernails fused into digitigrades and the nails gave way to pearl-white claws soaked in blood. The fingers swelled and the skin burst into pieces. Her feet began to change; the toes bursting into claws and the skin peeling away to reveal more black scales, and shifting her stance to the balls of her feet. A sharp talon grew on the inner ankles and her legs bulkened. Then, with a sickening pop, her spine lost its shape and she fell on all fours, vomiting more blood.Suddenly something snapped in her mind; new thoughts, new ideas beyond the wildest imagination. Thoughts no one else could achieve. She opened her eyes, two emerald-green pools with a black slit floating in the middle."Yesss..." she cackled, her voice now much more deeper with a sexy alto to it. "I shall show myssself frrrom darrrrknesssss."Her body began to grow bigger, clothes and skin stretching and shredding. Her neck lengthened and a sharp poke formed at the seat of her pants, which ripped out as a long serpent-like object with a hook-shaped scythe on the end; a tail. She felt her chest heave out and destroy her t-shirt, along with some of her skin. Her back, literally, split apart revealing two bony structures with long fingers. Muscle and scales soon covered them and a tattered violet membrane formed between the fingers, a familiar-looking scythe on the "thumbs" she stretched out her huge new wings as the organs in her body shifted and reorganized to accommodate her new structure."Almosssst...therrre..."Her face pushed out into a beak shaped muzzle and tearing away the last of her human skin from her body, then four horns as white as her claws tore through her skull. Her hair fell out in large clumps as they were replaced by three silver spikes of fur. She threw her head back and screamed-better yet, roared-loudly, shaking the walls around her. Her ears shrunk into her skull, and her human teeth fell out, replaced by millions of sharp fangs."Mmm, delicious." she purred happily, as she tilted and drank the last of her human blood from her gums. Her tongue grew longer and split at the end.To make the change complete, violet plates formed on her chest and grew up her neck and down her tail. Markings formed on her face, head, shoulders, and rump. Knowing her change was complete, she reared up and roared triumphantly; the Goddess of Dragon-Kind, the Queen of Darkness, Cynder, had returned. The dragoness looked down at the gory mess lying on the floor, she suddenly felt hungry. Licking her lips, she leaned her head down, gnawing on the flesh and lapping up the blood; it was scrumptious to her."Neverrrr let good meat go to wasste."Cynder twitched at the sound of that deep-throated voice. She smiled and sighed, knowing who said that. Turning her head, she saw a large black dragon stand near the other side of the room: he had black scales much like Cynder, but had deep-crimson scutes on his chest. His arms and legs were slightly bulkier than her's, but had sharp red claws on each of his toes. His muzzle was more curved at the tip, and his crimson eyes seem to glow in the darkness surrounding him. A long black mane grew on his head and the back of his neck, gold cuffs with spikes covered his wrists and neck, and two frilled ears stuck out of each side of his head. Four red wings(with a pentagram in the middle)and three tails-each with a deadly weapon-also lined his body."Welcome back, my queen..." he said as the dragoness bowed before him. "It took me yearrrrssss to find a sssuitable hosst for your ssspirit, but now at last, I've found one.""Oh Wyraach, my beloved, my lord, how I've misssed you...""And how I've misssed you, Cynder."------The two dragons locked each other in a long, passionate kiss before taking off. The rain and blinding gusts striking against them, but they didn't mind; they dealed with it countless times in the past, which they needed to relive and reflorish on this planet...THE END?
