Recap: "I want... You to stay together is all, you may go see Jerry now. If you'd like, goodbye." Wow, he just shooed me out of the room. I didn't return a, "Goodbye." I just left, slamming he door on the way out and fleeing to the infirmary before the older guy comes after me. I got into the room and I couldn't hear footsteps, so I lightly bumped my head into the door in relief. I stayed in that position before I almost shit myself to a voice behind me."Hello, Alex." Is all I heard before turning.
Jerry's POV.
I awoke to a off white room and quickly look at my surrounding. The room was no longer pitch, even though the room is still empty... I'm glad I'm not in the dark anymore. I had a sharp headache and before I knew it, a bright light flashed into my eyes and I placed my hands on my face. I moved my hands slowly to let my eyes adjust to the light and the first person I saw was Alex. Alex, what a beauty she is. She was standing at the door with a pouty look on her face.
"Hello, Alex" is all I said, she jumped and looked over to me. I couldn't even process her facial expression before she jumped into me, attacking me with kisses.
"Oh my god, you're awake! Dr. Linn said it'd take two days! I'm so glad you're back." She screamed into my ear... Any louder and my eye might start to bleed. I heard a door open, then closed and Dr. Linn popped into my face.
"Oh, how lovely this is. Morning, oh you're still stable... Looks good. How are you feeling?" Dr. Linn asked while scribbling stuff on a board. I looked up at him and he had baggy eyes, his beard showed no care and just looked roughly grown. I looked into his dark eyes and looked away.
"I'm fine, I-" he interrupted.
"Oh, he speaks! Great, I'll be right back." Then he left, just like that and I'm left with Alex. She started petting my hair slowly while having her arm wrapped around my waist.
"I'm so glad you're awake. I love you." She said in a low tone.
I love you.
I'm flattered, I removed her hand from my hair and brought her into a deep kiss. Then I pulled away, oh shit... My breath is probably bad. To my surprise, Alex kissed me again and I smiled onto him mouth. She pulled away into a long hug and I returned it as tight as I could. The older man came running in, he looked in even worst condition than Dr. Linn. His hair was sticking up in all different directions and his eyes were wide, he had a huge smile whipped across his face. I looked at Dr. Linn, than the older man... Wow, they look fucked up."Oh my gosh, he's okay. Thank you so much, Derek. Now, can he stand?" The older man asked in a heart beat as Dr. Linn walked away. He looked happier than my mom was on her wedding day. Why is he so happy I'm alive? He's still going to let us go, right? He wouldn't lie right...?Everything he's said so far has been the truth. We have to be leaving still... I laid there and Alex got off of me, so I could try to get up. I moved my legs off of the bed and my back instantly started killing me. Dr. Linn came back with a wheel chair and Alex helped me onto it.
"Come on guys." The older man said. Alex pushed me out the door behind the older man, leaving Dr. Linn behind. He walked to the room where we played the game and my heart sunk. Alex stopped pushing me and her breathing roughened.
"W..what are..w..we doing here a..again?" I said with a harsh stutter.
"No worries, follow." The older man said in a soft tone. Alex slowly started to push my chair into the room as the older man opened the door. Alex sat into a nearby chair, placing my chair as close to hers as possible. I never want to leave her side, I'm glad she feels the same.
"Now, you guys are the first to ever win. I've never had a couple survive the way you have this passed six months.-" wow, let's stop there. Six months?! Oh my, my parents must be worrying, oh god... Hold on...July... August... September... October... November. Shit, December. It's not December, is it? Did Christmas pass? I know this is a bad time to be talking about Christmas, but shit.
"-leaving shorty." Is all I heard as I snapped back into the cruel world.
"What day is it?" Yes, i'm definitely happy about leaving, but wow. I want to get Alex something.
"December 24th. Let's go." Wow, so much if my life wasted. Christmas Eve, huh? I'm glad, but I didn't smile. The older man walked us out of the room and we walked to a door that had locks all the way down. He unlocked them all and how wonderful that fresh air felt against my skin. It was dark out and cold as shit. We walked behind him as we scurried towards the taxi. The taxi... I hated this, I don't want to go back into that taxi. I stood there and Alex grinned, pulling me towards the vehicle. We got the the doors and we opened them... And we sat. I looked around, remembering the day we were here before. No handles, it still scared me. The older man sat into his seat and grabbed another mask. The mask was black with two eye holes and white stripes. I looked down and Alex lifted my head from under my chin and pecked my lips quickly. The drive was long and I was drifting away, but everyone my eyes shut for even a minute... Alex would get me up. We arrived back to the bar and I grabbed Alex's hand tightly. The older man got out of his seat and got out of the taxi. He walked towards out door and opened it, me and Alex ran out and we heard a faint voice.
"Good luck... Alex and Jerry." I ran out and into a nearby bar. Me and Alex sat onto the seats and the bar tender walked up to us with a huge smile.
"Wow, long day? How about this, first two drinks and on me." And waited for what we wanted.
"Two of your Devil Springs vodka, please." This is going to be a long night.
