Sweet notes of love

Liz loved working at the library: her co-workers were kind, the patrons were nice and it was a pleasure to chat with them. More importantly, she could do what she loved the most: reading. There were so many books that she felt like being in paradise every time she entered that place.
But something changed since she met a guy who piqued her interest.
At first she thought he was a patron like the others, even though he was quite handsome. He had golden hair, purple eyes, a serious look that could be intimidating. He seemed to be a college student and he had a bag full of books.
The first thing he asked her was: "Can you tell me where is the quietest and unpopulated place?"
It was such a unusual request that she couldn't help but being curious about him. Since there wasn't any study rooms or silent zones, she guided him to the only place she thought could satisfy him: a table in the Philosophie's section. She barely saw anyone there before and she always thought Philosophie was pretty boring, so it could be the right place. (it's just a personal opinion, I don't intend to offend anyone)
The guy thanked her, sat down and quickly took out his books to study, without a care of his surroundings. He stayed there until closing time and left with a "bye". Since that day, he became an usual patron who stayed in the Philosophie's section. Sometimes Liz kept an eye on him while checking some stuff nearby. She noticed that he never took breaks nor reacted to any change around him. He was so absorbed in his studies that it was like he was in a world apart.
For a long while she thought he never eats anything and that worried her a little since he stayed there for hours. She was a bit conflicted: it would be a good idea to talk with him and let him know that he could eat some snacks? But she hadn't the chance to put her intentions into acts because one day she saw an opened package of chocolate near his bag.
He has a sweet tooth? She was relieved that he did eat something after all, but then she called herself stupid: why she was feeling that way? She had nothing to do with him, she didn't even know his name. However, she was so curious about him and wanted to do something for him, even though she doubted he'd react to her call.
What can I do?
She wandered in the library, searching for an idea and stopped when she saw the cooking's bookshelves. She could bake something for him! She was really good at making sweets, it was her favorite hobby after all.
The next day, the guy came as always. Liz waited for a while before silently putting a little package with macaroons near his books while casually organizing some shelves. She left as fast as she could and after a while she checked him: no changes at all, it seemed like he didn't notice her doing at all.
Liz didn't know how to feel about that. A part of her was relieved but the other was a little disappointed. She shook her head to clear her mind and returned to her job.
Before closing time, he left like usual. Liz went to his table and found out that the package was gone. Instead, there was a note and some chocolates. Out of curiosity, she read it: "Thank you very much, they were really good. See you tomorrow."
It was a simple message, but it made her smile and feel happy. When she went back to home, she decided to bake new sweets. She wrote a note for him while eating the chocolates. They were delicious and melted her heart.
Since that day, it became a daily routine: she left some sweets for him, he left some chocolates or candies for her and they always wrote a note. Nothing confidential, just some greetings: they were nothing special, but Liz treasured them and couldn't wait for the next time she would see him.
Time passed, they never spoke to each other and one day he didn't show up. Liz waited all day long, but he never came.
Maybe he had something to do... She thought, a little depressed.
She sighed for the umpteenth time and left the library after closing time. A few steps later, she noticed him walking toward her and stopped in front of her.
"Hi." He greeted her with a faint smile.
"H-Hi..." Liz couldn't hide her surprise of seeing him.
"Today I had an important exam, so I couldn't come here. I'm sorry I kept you waiting in vain."
"Oh, don't mind it. How was it?"
The guy smiled. "I passed. And I want to thank you for your help and the sweets. It was thanks to you that I managed to study in peace. So I want to invite you out for dinner."
Liz widened her eyes in shock: did she really hear what she heard? She was dumbfounded and it took her a while to get her composure back. She couldn't believe it was really happening.
"I'm glad you passed and I'm pleased by your words, but I think a dinner is a little too much. There's no need to overdo it."
"I'm not overdoing it. I want to know you and going out with you because I like you."
Liz heard her heart stopped for a second before beating like crazy. She finally realized that she felt the same way and wanted to know him more.
"I like you too" she answered with a big smile on her face.
"Then, shall we go?" he smiled and held out his hand to her.
"Yes!"
She held his hand and they started walking.
"By the way, I'm Liz. And you?"
"I'm Klaus."
"Klaus..." She muttered his name, feeling unexpectedly happy. She finally knew his name after all that time.
"It's really a pleasure to meet you!"
