Pocky Game

Liz was very surprised to see so many sweets and snacks. Randy had some work to do down in town, but after that he returned with a surprise party for her. It wasn’t fancy nor too romantic or elaborated. But, seeing Randy’s smile she loved so much, she couldn’t help but be happy for that. It didn’t matter at all. Just being with him was enough to feel her heart full of love for him. They tried lots of sweets and enjoyed their time together.
“Liz, let’s try this next!”
Randy showed her a red package.
“Pocky sticks? Okay!”
She stretched out her hand to take the package but he didn’t allow it.
“Randy? What are you doing?”
Liz questioned while Randy smiled as always.
“I have an idea: it’d be boring to just eat it, why don’t we play a game?”
He suggested.
“Which game?”
She was confused.
“Pocky game!”
He announced with enthusiasm.
“It’s really simple: we have to eat the same sticks from each end, you lose when you can’t hold the pocky, you win if you pull away last.”
“I see… Wait…!”
Liz blushed, suddenly realizing something. “Doesn’t it mean that we will end up kissing?”
Randy chuckled.
“Yeah, in that case it’ll be a tie.”
“Randy, you know what I mean!”
She tried to protest, but he stopped her by putting his finger on her lips.
“Time’s up for words. Complain after you beat me.”
Said so, Randy put a stick on his mouth and brought his face closer to her.
Liz hesitated, feeling so much embarrassed. And Randy’s smirk didn’t help her to calm down, it was the total opposite. Randy squeezed her hand, as for encouraging her.
“O-ok, fine…”
She surrendered in the end and joined his boyfriend in that strange game. They started eating the pocky.
Liz could feel her cheeks getting hotter and hotter. She was sure she looked redder than a tomato!
It was so strange. It was different from kissing him: they were getting closer, but slowly and she could see all the expressions he was making. It was something that she never thought about when kissing him.
And his smirk… God, she could have a heart attack at any moment! Her heart was pounding so much that she was sure he could hear it.
Only a few inches separated them, she could feel his breath and seeing her face reflected in his eyes.
A few more bites and their lips met, their eyes still open, as if competing to see who would give up first and close them. Then, Randy gently cupped her face with his hands and pressed his lips on hers to kiss her with passion. Liz moaned, accepting his kiss.
She could swear that it was the more passionate and sweetest kiss they’ve ever had, maybe because they waited for it for so long?
When they finally stopped, Randy hugged her while petting her head.
“I love you, Liz.”
He whispered to her ear.
“I love you too, Randy. But if you want to kiss me, just say it without playing strange games. I’ll never refuse it.”
Randy chuckled.
“I know, but I just wanted to try it and it was worth it. Even though I thought I couldn’t resist you any more after I saw how cute you were.”
“It was… Really embarrassing! But… Not so bad in the end, I have to admit that…”
They smiled to each other, still a little shaked, and shared another kiss.
A kiss followed by many, many other kisses.
