Werewolves were going extinct at the hands of humankind. They were being hunted, captured, killed, and studied. They had no chance of effectively defending themselves against the advanced ministrations they were continuously becoming victim to. In this time, they have continued to live in disguise in hope that they are not caught and executed. With the extensive knowledge the humans have gained on their existence the task has become incredibly difficult.
Cyra, a member of the Agwang pack, is one of the remaining werewolves. Becoming an orphan at age 8, she is used to being alone and dependent on herself. While sitting through a lecture she is alerted that her pack is being attacked by hunters. Without a pack and not yet having found her mate she is alone once again with two options. She can either run and continue to survive the way she had been doing for 18 years or, fight back against a population that as a whole is opposed to her existence and determined to end it. It was a fight she thought she would be doing alone but Fate had other plans.

"Have you been following me this whole time," I whisper yelled at the idiot in front of me. He was already making the situation even more dangerous for me just by being in the woods. If another hunter ended up finding me, Aurelius would be the only one to blame.
"Um, yes?" Aurelius was wary of my reaction, and he had every right to be. He was a mere human and seemed to be trying to tease death. He had no clue that I was someone that he should be trying to kill right now. In his head I was another human who was just caught doing something quite sketchy- something he didn't understand but was very curious to find out.
"You realize you can't go back home now." I informed him seriously. "It's either you die by my hands, theirs, or you continue to follow me. We're in too deep now for you to survive alone." There was a mischievous glint in his eye, as if he knew something I did not. Which wasn't possible. The witches spell had completely masked any physical sign that may alert to the fact that I wasn't mortal. And he couldn't survive in the woods alone. No mortal could unless they were a trained hunter. I was sure that he wasn't even though he wanted be.
"I will stay by your side." I paused as I calculated his words. The sincerity in his voice and the strength in his gaze left me feeling uneasy. Nonetheless I accepted his declaration, let go of my grip on his throat, and took a quiet step back.
"Let's go."
