Mandalore had lost their leader, Bo-Katan, and war was hovering over the horizon. Bo-Katan was supposed to lead them to battle, but they had to move on to a different leader, Sumya Wren.
"There, lying on her bed, was Bo-Katan. She wasn't alive..."
" 'It will be alright, Alora.' I said. 'But what about the war?' She asked. 'We will get a new leader. Don't worry.' I said. 'Sumya, didn't you hear? You are our new leader.' "
At the age of fourteen, Sumya Wren was chosen. Then she found out she was force sensitive, and was granted the darksaber. She reluctantly took it. This didn't seem to be her right. To own and possess such a weapon. Ky, Sumya's close friend, knew what to do.
War started on Mandalore. Ky and Sumya were taken by bandits. Sumya used the force in front of the bandits to save Ky, and he escaped, but Sumya was not so lucky. She was then taken to Kylo Ren himself. She escaped his grasp and flew back to Mandalore in a stolen ship. Ky was thought to have killed Bo-Katan and Sumya, but Sumya came in just in time to save him.
Lillia and Beatriz met up with Sumya and they created an alliance between Mandalore and the Rebel Alliance.
Afterwards, Lillia and Beatriz inform Sumya of a mission. Sumya listens to the briefing. The next day, Sumya is asked to train with her father and Ahsoka Tano. She gladly goes, but is slightly shaken by a strange vision from the night before.
The date of the mission has come and Sumya has said her goodbyes. Her ship departs and they are greeted by a successful mission, or so they think, when they were about to leave to go home, a blockade of Star-destroyers darken their path, and they can't blast off because they were almost out of fuel, and they crash.
