Yuna's POV
//Note that when I use ' ' it means Yuna is using sign language. This goes for the whole story!!
I guess you could say I'm the type of person you don't really notice. Maybe the type of person you'd walk by and not recognize him/her because of how quiet he/she is.
People would call me weird, or say that it's awkward to be around me since I use sign language to talk to people. Of course almost everyone doesn't understand sign language here, so it's understandable. I mean, I know how to speak, but I prefer not to. It draws less attention to me anyways.
I'm rather independent and rely mostly on myself at school. I take honors courses, and with the many struggles I face, I try my very best. People would always ask me what my trick is to always getting first in all the tests.
I actually used to get a massive amount of bad grades, but that changed when I quit relying on my parents to help me. They became really busy, and I didn't want to be a nuisance to them, so I decided to work by myself and at my own pace.
I wonder.. maybe if I score lower, people will stop asking these questions. Or, they'd start to talk about how I got so low of a score. Possibilities. So many possibilities.
If you want to know my "trick" to getting first in all tests, just keep going.
Quit comparing yourself with other people and you'll be fine. Make mistakes so you can fix your flaws. Motivate yourself to study. For example, my motivation is that I want to be successful for my parents so I won't be a burden to them.
But overall, the most important thing is your happiness. If you're not happy, you have a harder time studying. Don't stress yourself or overthink. Give yourself breaks every now and then when you study.
It's really not much if you think of it. But people can be so clueless these days that it would be useless to tell them.
Every single weekday, I would ride my bicycle to school. The distance from my house and the school was fair, and in return, I'd get a nice view of the gleaming skies and the breath of fresh air, that would tickle my nose gently. It was a normal day. Same old routine every day.
I lock my bike, so that people don't steal it, and head into the entrance of my school. Going through the metal doors, I slide through, spotting a strange amount of people near the entrance.
Normally there wouldn't be this many people around in the morning. I'm used to seeing empty halls, and hearing quiet echoes that bounce against the walls, so this was a bit bewildering to me.
Shrugging my shoulders, I dragged myself to my locker to grab the necessities I need for my classes. That was when my ears picked up on the reason as to why many people were surrounding the entrance.
"Did you hear about the wealthy transfer?" I hear on one side. "I heard he's handsome."
As usual, this school never fails to make news spread like a lightning bolt. But who cares? I don't care. If he's rich, he'll probably be like those people who are arrogant and conceited.
I'm pretty sure we won't have any contact.
As if on cue, the transfer comes in with a flashy smile, and the people who were waiting for him dash towards the long, awaited man.
"Ah, annyeong." The transfer shoots a beaming smile as all the girls fall back with heart-eyes. Some guys too. Strange.
When my eyes first lied on the man who attracted many, I couldn't help but feel an ominous air that sent shivers down my spine. There's something off about him I tell you. The atmosphere definitely changed.
