" Molly, I really must go," Sherlock says as Molly drags him by the wrist towards her spare bedroom. He protests, but never once does he actually attempt to pull away.
" Just look!" she says as she pushes open the door to the spare room.
Sherlock bursts inside, and his eyes widen at the sight. The once bare, grey walls are now painted a million shades of blue and dolphins and colourful fish swim around. He spins round once and then watched Molly.
" Do you like it?" she asks. Her voice is hopeful. " I didn't think I could stand a frilly, pink room, even if the baby is a girl."
Sherlock pauses and closes his eyes tightly as he turns to face the wall. " You said the baby's a girl?" he says.
" Yeah, I wanted to wait but, you know me, I'm not very good at waiting," she says, then she giggles her giggle. Sherlock remembers it. But he blocks it.
Remembering would mean caring.
And he doesn't.
He - he can't.
" It's beautiful," he says, running a hand over the dark wood of the crib. " But I really must go now. Take care, Molly Hooper."
He walks out the apartment and pulls his coat lapels tight over his face. His eyes sparkle as he whispers desperately to himself, attracting the attention of strangers.
They obviously think he's crazy.
Maybe he is.
It's the only explanation.

Hello there!
It's gone back to short! I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure what else to do for this part. I'm not happy with it in the slightest, but I have rewritten it so many times now that this will have to do.
I hope you are enjoying this short novel! If you are, please leave a vote and a comment! The comment can be praise or constructive criticism! I'm always looking for ways to make my writing better!
Thank you for reading!
