Chapter One: Rough Life In Tartarus
Percy's POV
I have been falling for what felt like hours. I swear this is way longer than the first time I fell inside the pit. I wasn't really scared at the moment. You see, the fear comes when you see the ground coming and you expect to die. I can't see the bottom yet so I'm just chillin up here still falling.
As the minutes ticked away, I growled in frustration. Just as I was about to start doing backflips to pass the time I saw the ground.
Fear seeped all the way up my spine. I'm finally here. The place I have nightmares about almost every night. The place I prayed never to return to. Tears formed in my eyes as I got closer and closer to the ground. I hope I die right when I hit the ground.
Of course, if you have my "luck" you would know I did not die. When I was four feet off the ground I instantly stopped, floating in midair for a second before I fell to the ground with a hard thump.
I groaned as I got to my feet. Where is Tartarus am I? I asked myself as I looked around. All I saw was a big mountain, with bones sticking out of it.
'Well well well, look what the cat dragged in' A voice spoke from behind me.
I turned around quickly to come face to face with my greatest enemy. The one that eats kids and was responsible for my friend Luke's death. Yup, you guessed it folks, standing in front of me is none other than Lord Kronos himself, the King of the Titans.
I gulped. 'Hey Krony. Fancy meeting you here. No hard feelings about the whole me stopping you from killing the gods right?' I asked hopeful he doesn't fight me.
Kronos laughed. 'Oh Perseus, of course there are hard feelings between us. I'm just here to show you to your new home! We are going to have a lot of fun, you and I' He said punching me in the stomach.
~~~Time Lapse~~~
I've been in this cell for years. Everyday, Kronos comes and tortures me. I hate my life. Why did I have to fall right in front of Kronos' house? I just have the worst luck anybody can have.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the cell door unlock and open, Kronos stepping in with an evil smile on his face.
'Well my friend, today is when we part ways. I know how much you want to stay here and have fun with me, but you gotta go' He said feeling sad.
Hope sparked to life in my eyes. I was finally being set free? Is this a joke? Another method of torturing me? My answer came when Kronos spoke again.
'However, I am giving you one final gift. You see, if you ever leave Tartarus alive, nobody will recognize you' He said smiling evilly down at me.
'What do you mean? Of course my friends will recognize me!' I whispered weakly.
Kronos laughed. Then he stepped closer to me, kneeled down next to me and placed his hand on my forehead. He started chanting in some language I haven't heard of before. When he was finished he stood up and stepped away.
'In case you're wondering. I just placed a curse on you. A curse that nobody, absolutely nobody has a cure for. You should feel happy because I've never given this curse to anybody before' He said smiling.
I glared at him. 'What curse?' I asked through gritted teeth.
His smile widened even more if that's possible. 'I gave you the Curse Of Monsters. You will turn into the very monsters you despise every time you kill one!' He said in glee.
My eyes widened in shock and fear. No! I don't want to turn into monsters! Just as I was thinking that, I felt my forearms start to burn. My eyes started to form tears as I yelled in pain. For several minutes the burning didn't let up, and I couldn't keep myself from screaming out in pain.
