I looked over at Max, looking around at where we are "where the hell are we?" Max asked. I shrugged, "good question." We saw a man and women walking over to us.
We both look at each other "I bet you five bucks their gonna ask what where wearing" Max whispered to me. "Deal" I replied.
The women smiles at us, we hesitantly smile back. "Hi there" she says, "uh hi" Max says, I wave slightly.
"Who are you two?" The man asks. "I could ask you the same thing" Max says. "Well I'm Eliza and this is my husband Alexander" Eliza said.
Me and Max share a look then look back at them "Well I'm Jillian and that's Max" I say. They nod "another question what are you two wearing?" Eliza asks.
"Clothes from our time period" Max said, I nodded "ya this is what I usually wear"
"What do you mean by our time period, this is 1781" Alexander says. "Where from 2018" I say, "and women don't usually wear dresses." Eliza looked at me "you're serious?" I nodded "ya I haven't wore a dress since my CT Theatre Banquet"
They nod, "do you two have a place to stay?" Alexander asked. We shook our head, "how about you two stay with us."
"That sounds nice, thank you" I say. Eliza smiles "of course dears, follow us"
We nodded and followed after them "you owe me five bucks" Max whispered. "Ya I know" I say.
When we got to their house, it was nice and big. "Whoa" Max said. Before Alexander went in, he grabbed the mail, "hm, a letter from the general."
Eliza looks at him, worriedly "what does he need?" She asked. Me and Max stood their awkwardly.
"He wants me to lead a troop of me at the Battle of Yorktown" Alexander replied. "No you can't" Eliza said. "I must Eliza" he said.
Max finally spoke up "I can go with him, I know how to use a gun and I have a pretty good aim." I rolled my eyes, as Eliza and Alexander looked at Max.
"You do?" Eliza asked. "Ya our older brother taught us" Max said, I nodded "he did" I said. "Alright Max you can come with me, Jillian stay here with Eliza" Alexander said. We both nodded.
I soon realized I had a backpack on. I took it off and zipped it open. "What's in there?" Max asked. I shrugged "two pocket knives, a bottle of coke and a bottle of diet pepsi, our phones, and two bags of Cheetos (not sponsored)
Max nodded as I handed him a pocket knife and his phone. "Women shouldn't own knives" Eliza says. "But I've had a pocket knife since I was eleven" I say.
"Ya our brother gets us them" Max said "he always does." I nodded, and Eliza sighed, "alright you two should get ready to go, I'll take Jillian to her room" Eliza said. We nodded and I followed Eliza to my room. It wasn't very big but I was fine with that.
"This is where you'll be staying and tomorrow we'll go get you some dresses" Eliza says. I nodded "ok, thank you" I say. "Not a problem" Eliza replied
