Watching the last box being carried away onto the moving truck was a bitter sweet moment. I was thinking about having to restart after I'm enrolled in UA and I hear the most obnoxious voice of the century. "Deadass 🅱️, you can't tell me shit with my timbs on," Okapi hollers through the empty halls to hear the echo bounce off the walls.
"Do it again!" Nyami yells over enthusiastically.
"How the hell did she say 🅱️ out loud," Nyomi questions softly while rolling her last suitcase down the hall.
"All right you little brats. We get on this plane in 6 hours but, you know we have to get there early to check in and make sure we all get through safely. (Y/N), please make sure Okapi and Calliope don't run off somewhere like the last time we tried to go on vacation. Remember I'm keeping everyone's passports and important documents so don't freak out when you don't see them. We will be leaving in about twenty minutes so call your friends and tell them goodbye," Mom chides gently but, with authority. It's been rough since dad disappeared. He was always really good with us but, one day he just vanished after him and my mom went on a mission. People gossiped and said he died or he became a villain but, I don't believe it. After I shake the negative thoughts from my head I dig my phone from my pocket and try to call the girls one last time.
brrring... brrring... brrring...
Ugh. How wonderful. I love being ignored when I'm literally leaving the fucking country."(Y/N) snap out of it and take the little gremlin," Okapi whines while waltzing into the airport shuttle outside our grand doors of our house.
It's hard being apart of a recognizable family. It always seems like someone's trying to pry into your life at all times. I sigh gently as a take Calliope's hand in mine and get in the shuttle. When I tiredly peer out the window. The only thing I can think of makes me smirk gently. I'm out this bitch.
~Time skip brought to you by a lazy ass author~
I groggily walk out the terminal with my carry on in my hand and my family by my side. The last flights were a fucking mess. Calliope screaming because her ears were popping, Okapi got a nose bleed, and Nyami threw up because of the sudden change of pressure, and Nyomi got a migraine and snapped at the slightest noises anyone made. We were all tired and irritable as we got our luggage from the baggage claim. After hours upon hours of traveling I was grateful we still owned our old house from when we lived here years ago. I wonder when I can stop by and say hello to Mina-chan... I can't believe I stayed sane without her rambunctious personality right by my side.
As the brisk air hit my skin from outside the airport I could only think of one thing. Showering. In all seriousness, I smell like shit and feel like shit from all the traveling. As our chauffeur pulls up I can sense a blinding spirit bouncing up and down excitedly and I tried not to let a giggle slip out. Calliope was rocking back and fourth on her small feet and bolted into the car as soon as the doors opened. Everyone was too tired to argue. I mess with my medallions and twist the strap around my thigh so it can relieve some of the pressure. I was the last to hop in the rather luxurious vehicle and sank into the expensive leather seats. All the tiredness from traveling was starting to kick in and I couldn't help but, close my eyes and sigh contently at the soothing hum of the engine. A smile works it's way on my face and I start to fall asleep until my ears pick up a snicker from the other side of the car.
"What," I say slightly annoyed and the one and only queen of bullshit cackles at my tired form.
"You look like a crackhead when you smile with your eyes closed," Okapi chitters away careful to not let my other irritated siblings hear our conversation.
"To whoever's up there please keep me from hanging this child by her large intestine because she keeps testing my patience," I seethe through my gritted teeth. I feel a sharp glare aimed at the back of my slick (h/c) hair. I turn slightly and see Nyomi with an annoyed look on her face and a vein popping out of her forehead.
"Be. Fucking. Quiet."
"Don't hafta tell me twice," I retort with a snarky attitude and sink back into the seat. I listen to the engine hum and look out the window and see the bright light of the city. It's been a long time since I felt so at peace. Exhaustion silently creeps through my whole body and I give in knowing that everything is falling into place.-Semi Important A/N below
