All Sufficient Christ

This first chapter I will speak on a few issues that concern the church ...

Such as the prevalence of false teachers ...

The current rate of agnosticism among the body of Christ ....

The lack of spiritual exercises deep thought adherence to the gospel truth ...

Lack of integrity in the pastoral ministry ...

And finally the need to stand firmly rooted in the faith in Christ Jesus our lord the All Sufficient One ...

The letter to the Gentile church of Colosse in Asia Minor was written by Paul the apostle as an address to the believers to avoid false teaching and encouraged them to give up certain physical desires and worship angels and spiritual powers ...

The foundation of the Christian doctrine was at first met with lots of enthusiasm for it offered a deviation from the legalistic religious regime that was practiced by the Jews under the law of Moses called Judaism ...

At its inception Judaism was by itself a deviation from the pagan religions of the ancient middle east ...

From the city of Ur of the Caldeas to the shores of the Red Sea ..

From the rivers of Babylon to the ancient city of Thebes ...

Pagan temples adorned this ancient landscape as countless men women and children paid homage to astral deities pagan kings royal servants temple priests and court officials ...

Now the same culture of the Nazarites had invaded the Gentile world where all manner of false teaching was beginning to spread like a virus in the church's arteries and veins dag 😫

Now what was common place among the Colossians in Paul's day is not reeking havoc among the so called 21 Century Christians ....

Worshipping everything from the choir members ...

Entertaining church gossip in the cell groups ...

Hollering about the flower arrangement ..

The musicians playing the music too loud ...

To sermon not being relevant enough ...

To saying am a Christian coz my pastor says so every Monday Wednesday Friday and Sunday worship service mann 😐

And just as Paul encouraged cats in both Jewish and Gentile community to entertain strangers as some may have entertained angels unaware ..

Blokes in new millennium have formed a habit of entertaining strangers and even more stranger and wired things in the name of entertaining angels ...

IDK 😐

Strange things have happened in the name of creating a seeker friendly environment where wild and crazy kids do all sort of wired mambo jumbo only to end up being eager seekers of a New Age Religion ....

And in the name of worship cats have ingrained into their seeking, pagan and occult practice like mixing a live stage performance with magic ...

Like telling kids that the Marshall Arts can be combined with biblical text ..

Teaching Yoga and Reflexology in a study group ...

Like trans meditation and channeling as a form of getting in touch with the spirit world and other things like saouyance are encouraged as a means of communication with dead loved ones ...

Now this is crazy coz the Father Son and Holy Spirit cannot be reached any other way except by was of prayer and supplication huuuum 😪

By all means necessary seems to be the motto among many believers and certainly not all are believers in Christ !!!

Ever heard of Christian Witches ???

Colossians 1:15-20 Paul tells these Gentile community of the supremacy of Christ ...

Vv 15,
Christ is exactly like God who cannot be seen. He is the first born Son superior to all creation.

Vv 16,
Everything was created by him everything in heaven and on earth everything seen and unseen including all forces and powers and all rulers and authorities. All things were created by God's Son and everything was made for him.

Vv 17,
God's Son was before all else and by him everything is held together.

Vv 18,
He is the head of his body which is the church. He is the very beginning the first to be raised from the dead so that he would be above all others.

Vv 19,
God himself was pleased to live fully in his Son.

Vv 20,
And God was pleased for him to make peace by sacrificing his blood on the cross so that all beings in heaven and on earth would be brought back to God.

Vv 22-23,

Now let us stand firm in his presence as people who are holy and faultless and innocent.

But you must stay deeply rooted and firm in your faith. You must not give up the hope you received when you heard the good news. It was preached to everyone on earth and I myself have become a servant of this message.

Now it is my wish to communicate the same message that Paul was writing to the Colossian brethren that Christ is supreme above all else ...

Creating the world in his own pleasure sustaining the heavens and the earth by the Word of his own Mouth ...

A reflection of his own image and likeness he is in all and is is all the first and the last ...

Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end ...

The one that Was and Is and Is to Come ....

The One who was in John 1 the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ...

One Faith one Hope one Baptist in the Holy Spirit ...

One Lord One Father of our mortal spirit ...

Love peace and happiness and joy in the Holy Ghost ...
