Chapter 2 We meet again

I got up, my feet shaky and looked around the room nothing else out of place. the books on my bookshelves were laying open, like I left them.

I quickly changed out of the medieval dress and into jeans and a faded red shirt. I ran a brush through my hair to get the Tangles out. As soon as I finished I heard my mother calling from downstairs.

"There's someone at the door asking for you!"

"Okay." I called running downstairs and turning so I faced the front door. Two people waited there a girl and a guy, the girl was my age and the guy looked about two years older. The girl had long curly brown hair and bright green eyes and was smiling sweetly at me. She wore faded blue jeans and green tank top and a backpack slung over her shoulder with a bulge in it, it was about the same size and shape of the Golden Stone from my dream.

The guy... The thing that struck me the most about him was his Amber/Crimson eyes. he had shoulder length black hair that covered one of his eyes. He wore dark almost black blue jeans and a black T-shirt.

"I am Alaura, and this is Ethan. Are you kaida?" she asked pleasantly with a smile on her lips, offering a hand to shake.

"Umm yeah?" I responded surprised. "Who are you?"

"I already told you silly: I am Alaur-" I cut her off midsentence

"I meant how do you know my name?" I corrected slightly irritated with her, and Ethan kept nervously glancing over his shoulder and reaching for his hip, as if he expected something to be there.

"We need to talk to you out of range of anybody, we come with information that is not for any other ears to hear except for you." Ethan spoke and his voice was deep and firm obviously saying he meant business.

"Mom! I am going to go hangout with friends!" I called shutting the door behind me.

"Okay follow me Dragon Rider." Alaula said in her musical voice.

"What did you just call me?!" I demanded immediately. Ethan paused mid stride then turned on his heel.

"Are you not kaida future rider of the hatchling of Avelyan?" It was obviously a rhetorical question, because he continued walking right after he said it.

"You are obviously confused human. There is a elder counsel of three Dragons and they have chosen you to be the last Dragon Rider this is a great honor, bear it well and do not disappoint them." he said over his shoulder keeping a brisk pace.

"Where are we going? How did you know about my dream? Oh I get it... It's some kind of prank. Okay the cameras can come out now you got me! ha ha Ha!"

"Kaida, this is no 'prank' and to answer your question we are going to meet up with Avelyan the green." Alaura answered her tone somewhat serious but still rang with a joyful quality unlike Ethan's constantly serious and stern voice.

"Wait, earlier you called me a human, What is that supposed to mean, your human too!" They started walking towards the forest and foothills near my house.

"I am going to make this quite clear upfront: I am not a human, I am a elf." He said coldly then pulled his hair away from his ears showing that they were pointed.

"Do not make that mistake again." Ethan said coldly then he came to a abrupt stop in a clearing just big enough for a horse or two to stand.

"Avelyan the green! we have come!" Ethan called strongly his voice sounded like it echoed for miles. The wind rush around us and the trees shuttered with the impact of the wind. The last thing I was expecting to see landed right in front of me: the Dragon from my dreams, Avelyan the green.

"We meet again young human, thank you Griffin rider Ethan and pegasus rider Alaura. bring forth the egg." Avelyan commanded after greeting everyone. Obediently Alaura unziped her backpack then laid the golden and white egg on the ground.

"Well what are you waiting for touch it dragonrider, let the hatchling feel your presence." She didn't have to tell me. I felt like I was being drawn to the dragon egg by an invisible force, like I was watching from the outside unable to control anything. I crouch down and laid my palm on the warm surface and felt the steady rhythm of the heart beat. the egg shook violently under my hand.

I was briefly distracted by the sound of wings coming closer. Alaura smiled broadly at both the sound of the wings and the rapid shaking of the egg. While Ethan just stood there emotionless. The egg shuttered one more time then the top of it wobbled separated from the rest. I reach forward timidly and removed the piece of egg shell.

A small lizardlike head popped out. it had Golden horns and a single scale in between is's icy blue eyes was golden the rest of it's head was white. it slowly crawled out and left the safety of it's egg. I can now see its entire body it had four legs all with five golden talons in the rough shape of a hand, but more like a paw. About where the shoulder joint was for the forelegs it had wing joints and its wings were also golden as the sun. It had spikes that ran the entire length of it's spine that matched the gold of its claws, wings, and horns. And finally its tail, its tail was long and at the very end there was four spikes.

"Her name is Speravi, daughter of Renoh and Alvelyan." Alvelyan said proudly.
