   "I'll see you guys tomorrow," Nate said. "Yeah, later," Brandon said. "Wait. Brandon, maybe I can take you home," I say. "Uh. L-Luke, I don't know," Brandon blushes. "Its alright, but I gotta take someone home," Nate intervened. "I need a ride, I don't wanna ride with George," Sebastian said. "Making me drive alone!" George exclaimed with a huge smile across his face.

  "Clearly," Sebastian winked. "Alright then. Later guys," Nate said. They left. "I should probably be getting home to. Later lovebirds," George chuckled. I rolled my eyes, earning a small smile from Brandon. He left. There was an awkward silence between us. Brandon cleared his throat.

  "You should have offered to take me home," Brandon said quietly. "Why not?" I ask. "My mum says I shouldn't be hanging out with you anymore," he admits. "W-Why?" I stutter. "Look at the time Luke! Its after midnight. Mum will never let me leave the house with you. That's why Nate picked me up," he said.

  I sighed. "You should've told me something Brandon. I'm sorry. But why won't she let you talk to me?" I ask again. "She thinks you're a bad influence because of your record," he mumbles uncomfortably, playing with my jacket sleeves. "My record? My school record?" I clarify.

  "Yeah," he nods, embarrassed. "All your detentions, tardies, suspensions," he adds. "I'm sorry Brand. I-I'll take you home now," I say. I stand, and take his hand. He gets in on the passenger side and stays quiet. "You okay?" I ask. He just nods. "C'mon Brandon," I beg.

  He taps the console, and I place my hand on top of his. He looks at me, and I briefly looked back at him, smiling. We drove in completed silence. Yes, he even turned off the radio. "Brandon, I love you," I say, hoping to stir some conversation. "I-

  There was this car speeding through the intersection. I swerved to avoid hitting it. I just made things worse. When I swerved, I lost control of the car. Brandon yelled, and as an instinct, I leaned over to cover him. I held him tight as the car flipped over.

It stopped, that's all I know. Because when it did, I blacked out.
