how do people pull off pretentious acts every once in a while? i've always been wondering where could they be getting the energy to set aside authenticity to make room for fake shit.

i stared at chaeyoung and jisoo as they excitedly made their way towards me, happy smiles glorifying their faces. i scoffed, tearing my gaze away as i sat on the empty bench.

it's 9:30 am, i made an effort of getting up from my bed as early as i could to make it on my P.E class on time only to be greeted by these two losers, again.

"where's boyfie?" i shrugged off a question i didn't know the answer for. this aussie girl won't really just quit saying 'boyfie' instead of 'boyfriend'.

"oh, so he didn't pick you up today." jisoo, who's against my whole relationship thing, emphasized and even arch a brow at me.

"i don't need him to." the blandness in my voice is perhaps what made chaeyoung coo, followed by, "something wrong with you guys?"

"where exactly did you get the idea that there's something wrong just because my boyfriend wasn't able to come and pick me up?" irritatingly, i let out a groan, looked around and shifted my gaze to jisoo. they both didn't say a thing. they knew it's finally time to let it go and just shut up.

if you would ask me, i'd like to take a break from everyone—from them, from this, from school, from the repetitive tasks i had to do on a daily basis. it's a common thing i do when things get shitty and all of them—my friends—believed is just utterly selfish- which i wouldn't even argue about.

it's the last month of the semester, thankfully. and they'd been planning out a sem-ender amidst completing all final requirements and exams. i'd say it wasn't the best thing to do especially for lisa who's been failing most of her majors in the previous semesters. well, it's not that i care so much but, point is, don't they know what their priorities are?

i went home with chaeyoung later that afternoon since jisoo has got some scholar duties to do. i didn't understand the whole scholarship thing she applied for—she doesn't necessarily need it especially when both our families our well enough to support her entire years in college. but jisoo being jisoo... she'd always liked busyness and studying and somehow i hope i did too. despite being first cousins, there's no clear similarities between us that someone could easily point out- except the surname coz come on, it's already obvious as fuck.

all of us three lived in one complex—rosie, jisoo and me. it was just jisoo and i at first, it was a unit both our parents paid for for our college lives to be actually easier though i didn't think it makes a lot of difference when we're at home. we lived downtown, and considering that our university is in the uptown area of the city, a nearby unit really is the easiest resolve.

chaeyoung came at third year. she's from down under, Australia, and to be honest she needed the unit more than jisoo and i did so we agreed to let her occupy the other remaining room since the space is big enough for at least five people.

"uh oh," i heard chaeyoung from the living room while i was busy brewing the coffee beans. i glanced at her, and her nose was still stuck on her phone.

"i don't think you'd like this, mate." what's annoying sometimes is hearing rosie use the word 'mate' every once in a while to address the people she's talking to. i mean, i grew up in new zealand and we had numerous annoying slangs too, but difference is, i don't use them???

"hi to my lovely girl @jennierubyjane, this one's for you." i walked to the sala, sitting right next to rosie as she read something from her phone. turns out it was actually a caption from christian's instagram post- a shot of him in front of what seemed like a chinese temple, posing like the ig-model-wannabe that he is.

"bitch, he's in Taipei right now and it's just two days before your birthday?!" i shrugged my shoulders at her question, taking the thought lightly. i mean, i didn't know about his sudden expedition and he didn't tell me about it as well, but it's not as if we're all too serious about the whole thing that's going on between us too.

this might be a filler chapter but bitch i'm trying here coz it's not always that i find myself capable of writing something i'd actually be pleased of. anywayssss, slight hetero so if u don't like that, then this might not be a story for u :(
