Chapter One

I began biting my nails.I did that a lot when I was nervous."Maddie calm down, you got an A as always.Your not the one that needs to worry"Kendall assured me, laughing lightly.I sighed.

"I guess your right, but you can never be sure"I replied.She rolled her eyes.

"With dance and everything, it was hard to find time to study".She shook her head at me."Even in your sleep you would ace this test"She said before turning around.Ms.Henry, our math teacher placed my test on my desk and smiled, before walking away.I turned it over nervously, but soon smiled when I saw the big A+ plastered on the top."I told you so"."What did you get?"I asked, turning towards her."I got a D as usual"Kendall groaned.

"Cheer up, you will do better"I said just as the bell rung.We got up seeing as though it was now time for lunch."Easy for you to say"She muttered as we walked out of the classroom.I sighed.

"Listen, I'll meet you at lunch"She said before walking away.I went the opposite way and to my locker.I don't know what it was about lunch, but I was always so glad to go there.I guess it was because Gino was there.I didn't have a crush on him, or like him or anything like that.Well at least that's what I thought.He's cute.I guess you can say that.I grabbed my lunch and made my way to the table where my friends were sitting at.There were two seat left.I know Abby doesn't like us communicating with the Candy Apple crew, but we are all friends at school and we all hang out and have lunch together at school.

"ill, that's gross"I remarked at what Gino said as I took a seat next to him.

"What?"He asked with a chuckle."I didn't think you were into that stuff"I said, opening my container, which held my fruit salad."Well I guess you don't know a lot about me"He replied smiling.I looked up at him before turning away, blushing.His smile just made me crazy, wait I mean he has a nice smile."Maddie stop always eating health food.Your perfect the way you are"He said loudly.I blushed, but I was smiling a little.I think everyone at the table heard that.Perfect.He called me perfect.I knew all eyes were on us, making me suddenly interested in my food as if nothing happened.That's when I soon felt my food taken out of my hands.I looked up.Gino.

"Give that back Gino"I said, standing up."I don't know"He replied, seeming confused."C'mon"I whined laughing.

I reached for it, but he swiped it away it soon became a game as I chased him around the table for it.When I was closer, I pulled on his shirt, causing him to fall, the salad spilling all over him."Gino are you ok- oh my gosh!"I cried laughing."Yeah I'm fine.Can you give me a hand?"He asked.As soon as we touched I felt something, but then he flipped me over us,both on the ground."Hay!"I groaned, getting up.I quickly.I shook the dirt off my clothes.

"Sorry"He replied."It's okay, it's just that well"I tried explaining that he looked really silly with salad on his face, but I ended up grabbing a napkin and wiping it off his face.I blushed as my hands brushed his cheeks and lips.

Embarrassed I just sat back down.

Jalen was telling a funny story about Cathy and had everyone laughing.Gino sat back down next to me, but I avoided his glare.The seat between Nia and Nick was still empty.Where was Kalani.

Just as I thought he wasn't staring,I snuck a glance, only to have our eyes lock, I blushed focusing my attention on everyone else.What was up with me? Why do I keep blushing a lot.

"So the man just ran away?"Kamryn laughed at Gino."Yeah.He was like, aren't you eighty or something?"He said, making us all laugh.Soon Kalani came."Where were you?"Asked Chloe.

"Had to make up a test"She explained.

Instead of sitting down, in the empty chair, she came over to where I was.

"Can I sit here"She asked me.I really didn't feel like moving, but I didn't want everyone to feel like I wanted to sit next to Gino, after all that just happened.

Not that I didn't want to, I did."Sure"I replied, packing my stuff up and moving onto the other side of the table next to Nia."You like him don't you?"

Nia whispered.I nearly spit out my food."I don't"I muttered."Don't worry your secret's safe with me"She replied smiling.I groaned.Great.Now everyone thought I liked Gino.Great.
